Dunno if that's a serious post, but I'll bite.
Just simple stuff. Jogs/running and basic calisthenics. Not eating junk food all the time works wonders, also. Stay hydrated!
You can kind of compare looking for a team to searching for a job. As people have said, experience is pretty much key. On the same token, just because you have been in 6000 teams doesn't mean you're experienced, it probably just means you're a clan hopper, or your teams have not lasted very long.
As you mentioned earlier, playing pugs is a really good way to get your name out there. If you play well in pugs, for all you know you may get vouched for by a player with a fairly 'well known' reputation. It's also about who you know!
If you find a group of 5 other like-minded people that all want to improve and have fun, then that is easily the best group of people you'll find. Good luck
Having everything work for you in game is great, but what's happening out of game works wonders also. It's a bit of a segway, but making sure you're not having extended sessions of playing the game, and some regular exercise can go a long way. I myself (after being unfit since senior high) started on the path of basic fitness, and I've been feeling great.
Not only that, as people have mentioned - getting a stable framerate is important as well. Good internet connection is nice, too. 120hz isn't as necessary as people are putting it out to be, but once you use it, you really won't look back. As I said earlier, try not to play too much. Have a break and read a book or something - you don't want to get burnt out. Just like anything you do, you also want to be in a positive state of mind when playing. If you're sick and not feeling the best, it's probably a good idea you don't play that scrim today, no matter how badly you want to.
Good luck, and hopefully you improve the areas of your game that you want to.
Great posts, ruwin.
I remember this being used a lot when hitsounds and damage numbers were not in the game. It also helped tell when the other team would get uber, until medics started spamming every voice command known to man
Innovation innovating new ways to throw a 3-0 lead wohhhhhhhhhhhhhh
you could say he was pretty... bogus
Thanks everyone I'm here til thursday.
Sorry guys I'm really behind on all this. i49 organisation has taken a big priority over this. I should be looking to continue doing some this weekend.
pls don't hate me ;-;
Didn't end up recording comms. Blood boiling from pre-match warmup etc all that jazz. Sorry for those that wanted them >_>
Also, gg. Was fun.
FlakxIs anyone on r5 uploading PoV's?
I learnt a ton from watching DJC last season.
I could do, but watching a 200 ping scout play looks pretty dumb.
I'll probably upload that + comms regardless of interest, because w/e.
EDIT: thanks for the quality analysis, mason.
Having the same issue as of late as well. Pretty frustrating to play an "old game" at what should be running at 60+ fps, to be experiencing ~20-30 fps at times just because I have an instance of explorer open on my 2nd screen.
From my experience, I don't think so. A lot of people talk about changing interp all the time, and I feel quite often it's just a placebo effect. I just leave mine at lowest for interp and ratio.
To be fair, when I play in Australia I typically get <30 ping, sometimes 5 on some servers, so not necessarily the best example.
Happy birthday!
No talking to any strangers.
Do you have uber advantage? If so, how big?
If it's a very small uber advantage, quite often you will want to kill the medic so they don't almost immediately retaliate with a counter uber.
If it's a large advantage, you will often just want to get easy frags on whatever (eg, heavy if they have one, etc).
It really is dependent on the map, positioning, what utilities they have, etc. There isn't necessarily a right or wrong answer. Most importantly is that you trade at least EVENLY, ie, don't lose a player before ubering, and make your post uber count. The post uber fight is typically the more important fight. Sometimes you will use an uber just to get positioning and force the other team back, and then just kill them because of the better positioning after the uber.
EDIT: pretty much what seb said.
