I started getting into coffee more recently after I realized how much money I spent on Starbucks. I got a french press and a Hario burr grinder from Amazon, and I'm still messing around with different brewing ratios and beans.
If you've never tried cold brew, I'd highly recommend it, especially if you have to go to work in the morning regularly. There are some good guides on the internet, but basically you use a higher coffee/water ratio (and a lot more of both in general), then let it steep for 12-24 hours (either room temp or in the fridge). You'll end up with a huge pot of really strong coffee that is instantly ready to go, and because it's stronger you don't need as much. It was great for just pouring a quick glass and heading out the door in the morning instead of going through the whole 10~ minute process of a french press.
