also iirc in european trademark laws you don't actually have to provide proof of identity unless the trademark is challenged, so this might be a fake

Yes, but if you search half life you can see this is where they also filed hl1 and hl2 in 1997 and 2005 respectively.

whoever filed the trademark put their name as valve software, but that doesn't necessarily mean the hl3 trademark itself was actually filed by valve software.

all this means is is that valve has to provide some active proof of development (trailer, gameplay vids, etc) within the next 2.75 years.

never touched HL1

when that came out i was playing TFC and CS 1.3

But... TFC and CS were both mods of HL1

Also both HL1 and HL2 are on my list of games that everyone should be required to play.
