Just under 9 hours left...
Open has 39 fully paid - with another 5-10 cleaning up their remaining players. This season's Open registration numbers have actually gone significantly up - and could close with a 20% increase if 1-2 things break the right way.
IM has 10 fully paid - with another 2 on deck. This is a serious decline from last season.
Invite will remain at 9 (unless something weird happens).
It's quite clear that there is a new batch of players coming into the game - but a lack of more established ones to fill out the higher-end of the community.

I would like to be playing in IM but between the fact that a new roster can't go directly there and the hijack rule, I've always wanted to sandbag open.

IM is low now, but as long as ESEA doesnt fuck with anything, i feel like there will be a significant increase in teams next season

there were only 16 rosters in IM at the start of last season, weloveanime died after 2 matches, budsquad died after 8 matches, lolbeastmode died after 8 matches.
we've had to move yomies, cisco, and either cafe monster/r5 to invite while the previous season only meat market (mad men) and ding dong daddies were moved up.
I know this doesn't really matter but having 1-2 less teams than last season ended with after we've moved up 3 teams to invite instead of 2 doesnt seem like a big difference (obviously having more open moveups survive would be nice). If IM could have a 8 team playoffs out of 13 surviving teams last season would a 4 team playoffs out of 12 teams this season (like esea wanted last season) be a big difference?

I would be fine with IM having 12 if the division was pretty close in skill but it seems like that's not even the case anymore...
a 4 team playoffs that is announced at the beginning of the season seems reasonable
rather then pulling it out of nowhere like they did last season after the regular season was over

From the scrims I have played, it seems that IM will be very competitive this season. Why do you think otherwise?

from what i've been told wood pig probably isn't happening and if it's not killing would move up both cafe monster and r5 to invite
unless there's another last minute group of invite players willing to take the roster

Idk I've been seeing a bunch of IM teams getting slammed by cloudmaker's team, who didn't even get moved.
Maybe it's just because you're scrimming the decent part of IM broking.

just because the top of open is competitive with IM doesnt mean the div isn't competitive in itself

From what i've seen most of IM is pretty close, and then the top of open is close to that as well. So we've got a balanced IM and a top heavy open. (like always)
As an IM player on an IM team I can confirm IM is really competetive right now
the bottom 2-3 IM teams lose to the top open teams just thinking about the last 2 seasons (sorry team) and i think there's a solid spread of high, mid and low IM teams

They didn't get moved up because they didn't win any playoff matches last season and Killing is supposedly against manually moving up teams / doesn't want to do it every season even though the last time he did so was S9 or something.

Idk if my logic is bad but i think once every 9 seasons wont make him lose his job.
by all accounts cloud's team should be in IM but I was super rusty and not really motivated to play when I had to take over so we didnt scrim at all second half of the season.
6cuties has 0 people on their IM roster. I don't know the particulars of the mutiny rule or other roster rules but is it possible to just get the join password from any one of the many former members then take over the roster as the only one on it?
Isothe mutiny rule
Killing in the Name #esea: 2 players from the previous season in 3 of the first 4 matches

Cloudmakerlf IM roster.
Just use the Ogre roster if nobody has claimed it yet.

could go all the way maybe and just move all the living open playoffs teams to IM (guado glories, pinoy boys) and refund the open fees anyone on those teams have paid? im assuming that only 12 teams were moved up because esea predicted that open would be as small as last season but since we already have 41 teams in open could we maybe move those two teams up and have a healthier IM season since open seems fine right now.
*http://play.esea.net/teams/94051 could use off top roster if they wanted to move up to IM assuming that james+antwan are playing
