rowrowTHEBILLDOZERProcreativeI'm Buddhist by behavior and a skeptic by ideologywhat does this even meanProcreativeTrying to be ethical non materialist and consistently open to new ideas or at least their possibilities. I fail pretty hard most of the time but I aspire.

that explains his buddhist twist, but not only doesnt accurately describe how its "buddhism by behavior" instead of "buddhism by ideology" (he admits he fails often)

and also doesnt address "skeptic by ideology" which im also curious about, more specifically what separates a skeptic, or skeptic OF ideology from a skeptic by ideology.

ComangliaLet's assume he's a skeptic by ideology rather than just OF. Cause being a literal skeptic of Ideology would be a paradox.

what?

skepticism isnt the disbelief of all things or even the disbelief of a certain thing. it is the admission that what is known is not known, only believed or assumed.

being a skeptic of ideology is in no way a paradox.

If you're an idiot like me but still would like to understand what quantum physics is all about, here are four lectures on Quantum Electrodynamics (how electrons behave according to quantum mechanics) by Richard Feynman, the great explainer:

#1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvl6TBGEoO0
#2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjdbbnWsdis
#3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FF25Lwt73fg
#4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtK6FdTg9HU

If you completed high school your math and physics are good enough to understand it, it's mind blowing and I really recommend watching them.

I took three semesters of quantum in undergrad and I have no idea what they're talking about in this thread. This stuff is so far into the theoretical I hope it doesn't detract from the proven applications of quantum.

I would love to dive deep into this thread but I stopped researching QM and different types of philosophy like 2 years ago so a lot of it's over my head now. After reading a bunch about solipsism I pretty much just stopped. I do love threads like this though. We need more thought provoking debate on here even if it is on a TF2 forum.

Perhaps politics (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I personally think that quantum mechanics is the result of an incomplete/incorrect mathematical system. I don't think that the universe is probablistic. More likely is that we either don't have the math or haven't looked at the system in the proper manner.

The number 0 is a relatively new concept. People used to use a Roman numeral system, then went to Arabic numerals. Tons of thermodynamic relations have empirically-derived constants with no (known) physical reason for existing. Quantum mechanics is hardly 100 years old.

It's really cool that QM created more questions than it answered. It's what we have to work with right now, but I hope I'm alive when the next new system is created.
