I recently received a Lenovo thinkpad laptop for tf2 (I know desktops are better)
When I started playing however, the Lenovo is completely silent, and it overheats incredibly quick.
I tried installing a fan control program, but it tells me I have no fans to work with.
It doesn't make a whole lot of sense for a realitbily new latop not to have any fans at all. Is there some driver I need to install?
Spec are Lenovo 20192
intel i7 quad core 3639 cpu @ 2.40
NVidia GeForce 640 something.
Any help would be awesome, thanks

1.) Check in the system info panel in your bios whether or not you can change fan settings.
2.) Make sure that you have the correct lenovo energy management software, it's the only thing I've used that lets me change fan speed on mine.
3.) Make sure that the fan is actually plugged in, it's possible that it got knocked loose.

IdeaPads aren't ThinkPads, just FYI.
You should be able to see the fan by looking through an exhaust vent or grille. If it isn't spinning, then I would take the laptop apart and check if the fan is either too gunked up or unplugged, or if there's really any damage. If you're too afraid to open it, try compressed air. If it doesn't appear damaged but still doesn't work, you'll need to replace it.
Luckily Lenovo spare parts are INCREDIBLY easy and cheap to acquire.
I'd offer to take a look for you but Colorado is pretty far.

Lenovo is horrible with heat venting, i actually have a burn on my leg from a laptop that overheated within 20 minutes of powering on.

The Retina MBP is a full size MBP. He probably was referring to the standard Macbook 2015, which is 100% passively cooled.
