If you say that hunting rifles should be banned because they can be used to kill people even though their main purposes are sport and food, then cars should be banned because they can kill people even though their main purpose is transportation. Just my opinion. If you believe that animals should not be used for sport/food then it's fine for you to believe that.
Note: I personally do not hunt.
And if you noticed, those people that are arguing for gun restrictions will never say remove all weapons. We generally only want to remove those that are designed to kill other people. The hard part is the gun lovers are, more often than not, not willing to move an inch to the center. Not all, but a majority.

It was given to me by my dad's friend who wanted me to have it since I was a great shot and a "good kid." I moved from the East coast to West coast with my gun and had no problems. Guns are easy to obtain and transport. I personally believe that guns are the problem, its who is using the guns that need to be controlled.

I was waiting for someone to post the fake Morgan Freeman quote. Sure you can somewhat put the blame on the media for potentially inspiring copycats due to sensationalism, but that doesn't change the facts. Accessibility of guns vs access to mental health/treatment.
