there was a team that was going to go to i58 or something but they decided to play overwatch instead

there probably won't be an asian team going to a big lan anytime soon

feel like rewind was by far the best chance for this due to geography/crazy cheap flights from east asia to california. and there were none, as far as i remember none even considered it at all.

ShounicGoing to settle the score since there's quite some misinformation going on.

At the start when dashner hinted on Twitter at Asians at i58 everyone who was going to go was confident in going and wanting to play. The lineup was Teejay + koreans which were creep shockey larky flower and fireze or something along the lines of that. There were going to be some shuffling because of age which might cause visa issues, but basically that was the lineup.

Somewhere along the overwatch beta the koreans got into the beta, and have basically switched to it. But they still played tf2. This wasn't an issue until...

The koreans minus creep attended a LAN for overwatch and now lost all motivation to keep playing as overwatch is a better prospect for them. Creep & Teejay talked to them about it but without Larky and the other koreans its basically impossible to form a team that's competitive and doesn't throw money away while making Asia look like a joke.

basically what rocketslay said

I feel like they could definitely pull one together, however I feel that Asia's best players are scattered about and not all on a single team; thus for this to work, we would need to make an Asian superteam.

the best bet was before, when tf2 was still somewhat relevant and guys like mad and pine were active. now they're all playing overwatch. the chances are astronomically small

so yeah, no.

While you probably won't see any good teams, teejay is easily good enough to compete against the best players in the world. Even with his ping, he is already better than most Australian scouts.
