personally i dont care for MGE, its mostly just jump up, shoot down. I used to really love ammomod (still do). I prefer DM over anything else tho.
MGE blows but dm is always either empty or full so there are times when I resort to it.
mge servers that contain DM arenas

Scout- DM

Demo- Don't bother

DM is more fun, MGE is more grindy. at the same time, in DM i'm constantly getting randomly killed from nowhere or getting random kills on people i didn't deserve, whereas in MGE you know where you're being attacked from and you have to hit all your shots.
that said, i feel like if anything i get worse at tf2 after enough time spent MGEing; the first round against someone i might go 20-7 but by the end i'm always being 20-0'd with ease. i don't think it makes you play better, but maybe it works for the people i play against and just not me >.>

MGE teaches you terrible habits, especially as a soldier. If you've really got to do it, wait until you are very comfortable with 6v6 and in particular your role on a team.
all the soldiers with high mge ranks who can't contribute in games are -fragging this now

I'd like DM if scouts didn't keep spawning behind me and two hitting me...
but as a soldier MGE is fun.

MGE really does teach bad soldier habits most of the time, but if you and your opponent are playing respectfully in some weird sense of the word then it's a lot better than it is for scout or demo
if you just do one or the other or one more than the other you're going to improve, but slowly
like i've gotten into the habit of playing a couple rounds of mge, taking a break, and then going back to play some dm, and i've been noticing improvements in my play, jumps, aim, etc much faster than when i just played mge all the time.

I have a noob question.
Which mod would be better for a noob Demoman? (no stickies)

first time I mge. I got rolled by around 8-1. Then my opponent !remove and join other arena. That really hurt my feeling. And I dont feel like my aiming improved unless I play ammo mod alot.

that's why i put points_dispenser in my name
although by this point i'm down to a 1300-ish ELO, so most people can't even get points off me anymore

how long does it take before your aim starts to improve, again?

i'll !remove if i feel like i'm just rolling an opponent because it isn't a learning experience for either of us
i'll also !remove if i'm getting absolutely raped by someone far above my skill level

Some people get mad if you laugh in DM servers also for whatever reason. Can't help but laugh when I die to melee battles when we both expend our entire clip and agree to melee.

when i've expended my entire clip without hitting a shot i usually type kill in console out of shame
this melee battle concept is intriguing though

play the highest level of pugs you can join.
gamesense >>>> spirekings

bl4nkexcept pugs don't teach gamesense rofl.
yeah but its better than mge/dm for practice outside of scrimming
yeah but its better than mge/dm for practice outside of scrimming
There is no silver bullet of doing one thing to improve your performance, but the best thing you can do to improve everything you need as a player such as dm, teamwork, and gamesense is through scrims.
Foster touched on this a little bit, but if you only scrimmed and played matches for a long period of time, anything other than that will look like an absolute waste of time because its just so disorganized and by that I mean, it makes it far easier to see the disunity within pugs, lack of need to 1vs1 soldiers/scouts in mge in order to achieve an objective, or the medicless aspect of dm.
From a roamers perspective, the only thing I would do in mge is badlands mid vs a scout or something similar against a scout. Being that, roamer has never been about airshotting other soldiers but rather than making the necessary trades at flank or bombing people.
And I like to make fun of my friends a lot, so if you approach the game like weeble, who relies on 1vs1 to create opportunities in the flank, you're gonna get torn apart the moment your dm falls short even the slightest given that you're playing at a reasonable competitive level. And through scrims/matches, you will slowly come out of that weeble mindset and realize by baiting your roamer effectively, you no longer need that yz50 dm to make plays, all you have to do is shoot <100hp people who arn't looking at you (given that I or your roamer is not fucking up and actually distracting well), in the end, thats the mindset you need to succeed in tf2, for an aggro scout at the very least. And lastly, I maybe wrong here, but in my opinion that term(aggro scout) is an oxymoron to a certain degree, because the most consistent aggro scouts are those do not need pure dm to get kills or overly aggressive to get kills or create opennings, but rather those who rely on patience and using the sudden sudden weakness caused by their team(roamer bombs, demo landing every spam) to take full opportunity of the easy frags taking the least amount of risks. So in my opinion, we should just call it the opportunist scout, but ofc that sounds fucking lame, so w/e

Because stickies are the most important thing a demo has and it's stupid not to practice it.

Because there's a reason demo is limited to 1
stickies in dm is everything people complain about when they talk about getting hit by random shit or shot in the back. If you want to practice your ~sticky aim~ go MGE someone and attempt to hit a person actively trying to dodge them, it's far better than going into DM and topfragging because you can fire off 8 stickies and get 8 back for fragging someone not even looking at you.
demo faggots get mad
