Due to some recent trends, i personally think there's value in discussing what a new community led league could entail. Just gauging interest here.

Key features:
Provided match servers
Lan finals + travel expenses paid
Paid admins and anti cheat team
End of season awards show
Advanced stats and player ratings(WAR?)
Social Media Presence

If a league were announced tomorrow that guaranteed all of this, what else would it take for you to jump ship? Would you be willing to move your counter strike teams over to this one instead of ESEA?
Let me know. Happy gaming!

id be very surprised if a tf2 league could pull that off without costing like $200 to play a season or top-tier esport sponsorship

if you try to attract sponsors to this game no one is willing to buy the sponsor's product which is why we have no sponsors. marketplace.tf takes a loss on every sponsorship they do for tf2 events and it's out of goodwill. the community is not worth investing in which makes this idea unfeasible.

an average airbnb for LAN in a city like philadelphia/chicago for 6 players*** would probably be around $750+ not including meals for a weekend of LAN. then unless you have a budget airline like frontier/spirit/allegiant to the LAN you're looking at a flight cost of ~$250-$300 per person. multiply by 6 and flight costs + airbnb total will near $2000. Then you have to get meals for the weekend and you'd be deep in the red. we haven't even gotten to talking about venue costs and then paying STAFF to get to the venue to help run the event.

you should ask somebody with deep pockets to fund this :DDD. maybe we should ask saudi arabia and their blood oil money! ik it's a troll post since it's billdozer but just saying that this is completely unfeasible and the reason why no one has been successful in such a venture

if the community collectively were to put their money into the powerball lottery and win a gazillion dollars this wouldn't be an issue
