Hey there,
Just looking to round off my upgrade from the first gen i7 to the new Haswell series; so I was wondering what would be some good dual channel RAM to grab from DirectCanada.
Mobo: http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=12980BD2914&vpn=Z87-G45%20Gaming&manufacture=MSI
CPU: http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=16950BD4219&vpn=BX80646I74770K&manufacture=Others
Thanks
PS. What type of RAM would work with this motherboard? (eg. which speeds, etc)

I'm not running it myself, but it should be a good baseline, seems to be really popular and not too expensive, as well as being pretty much standard in terms of speed and size.

I just upgraded from 4gb crappy RAM to the exact RAM Waldo suggested above. I love it so much. I can multitask as much as I want now and nothing slows me down.

You should be fine with Waldo's recommendation, but if you want go further, get a higher rated memory. The Z87-G45 can support up to 3000mhz! Get like 2133 or 2400 if you can.

I wouldn't suggest upgrading to Haswell, unless you don't plan on OC'ing at all. Ivy briddge is less expensive, doesn't get as hot and much better at overclocking. Also, I doubt you'd ever notice the difference in buying 2k+ mhz memory, so 1600mhz is plenty. If you really want "faster" memory, I'd go for memory with lower timings.

Thanks for the advice guys, really appreciate it.

I am currently using this RAM
http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=11180AC7504&vpn=CMY8GX3M2B2133C9&manufacture=CORSAIR
Anything above 2133mhz is getting pretty expensive
You can overclock the ram but not by much, if you want to overclock then get corsair platinum but it's gunna cost you
