watch your demos / try to understand why you died and if that can be avoided for next time
watch higher div players demos to learn where you should be standing in different situations

play on a team
play dm/mge
get a mentor

this video is a basic guide to flank scout. probably the best/newest one we have.
this video series is a lot more general and it's older but a lot of the concepts still hold up today

step one: find good team
step two: scrim a lot

watching demos, dm, and mge are all supplementary. scrimming with a good team is by far the fastest way to improve. If youre beginning in sixes, then skip newcomer and play open. You have almost 2k hours in the game just play open unless you want to waste three months and learn nothing in newcomer.

Alright, so you know how in pubs you will occasionally find those scouts who can barely use their keyboard? They constantly run into walls, and don't know they have a double jump. They probably picked the scout because it's bound to 1 on the class selection screen, and they think that means it's the #1 class (they're right).

Well, friend, you gotta be able to channel that mindset.

And doing this will make you INVINCIBLE against demomen at medium to close range

How are they supposed to predict what you're going to do, if you're not even sure yourself? Exactly. So, let's say for example that you're in a 1v1 and he just piped you. Obviously you're gonna cry for your medic and backpedal, just like every other scout would, right?

FUCK THAT. You're gonna crouch and hold A into a wall instead. Why? Cause you have an enormous dick weighing you down, that's why. You've gone Ret*rd Mode. Or maybe you just stand still and jump in place instead. The details don't matter - bottom line is he's gonna miss his next few pipes out of sheer confusion and gift you the kill.

Learn it. Apply it. I guarantee that you won't regret adding this to your repertoire. Pce
