Following their teaser at the start of October, EssentialsTF have fully announced their upcoming European online two-day cup. The cup is announced in partnership with DreamHack, and their Community Clash series of online tournaments. Teams will have the chance at their share of $2,000 (roughly €1,700) on November 14th and 15th.

The announcement comes after the announced cancellation of Insomnia67, the past several iterations of which have been run by EssentialsTF. DreamHack’s Creative Director of Global Festivals Justin Burnham rang in the TO’s first TF2 event since 2016, saying:
Team Fortress 2 embodies what DreamHack is all about, a strong and dedicated community. We’ve always wanted to bring the DreamHack fans a TF2 focused event and who better to do that than EssentialsTF. Growing this as a part of a bigger TF2 focus through our festivals will be the goal.
EssentialsTF Production Lead ArchRhythm also provided a statement, saying:
This partnership is an exciting opportunity for not only Essentials but also for the Team Fortress 2 community as a whole as we’ll not only be able to show off all our hard work but also showcase the best broadcast and playing talent that European TF2 has to offer to a wider audience than was possible before!
Signups are available now on Toornament and will be open through November 13th. The event will be played in Europe, however teams from any region are welcome to sign up. Signups are capped at 72 teams. The cup will use ETF2L’s ruleset for season 37, with the exception of golden cap rules, which have been tweaked due to the compressed nature of the tournament. Map pool is subject to change prior to the start of the tournament but is currently set to match that of ETF2L, notably including the “Refresh” version of cp_process.
Matches throughout the weekend will be casted on DreamHack’s Twitch, with more details for viewers and players available on Clash.TF
