Hello North America,
We are a community and service provider that primarily focuses on delivering servers to the competitive scene. Our current locations have been supporting the AUS/NZ scene for the past five years and most recently expanding throughout Asia and partnering with FBTF to deliver a standardised server experience in South America.
Recently we have been working together with RGL on bringing our service to the North America scene. The locations we plan to deploy a trial phase to are Iowa, Las Vegas and Salt Lake City with the primary focus being on Iowa. This trial phase will include 6 free servers and 10 exclusive servers in Iowa and the other two locations having 4 exclusive servers each.
Contingent on the success of the trial (a clear indication of high demand on the free servers) we will transition to permanently supporting the region and increasing our server count.
In contrast to other booking solutions in the region, we primarily operate entirely through Discord, so you won't need to leave and go to a website to get your server. You can get a server by joining the Qixalite Discord here. After entering check out the #roles channel and sign-up to the TF2 role by reacting, then you can view the #tf2-booking channel.
If you would like further information regarding our booking system, please head over to our support documentation here.

Iowa and Vegas? East coasters gonna feel like west coasters on those servers
I've been using Iowa Quixalite servers for my team's scrims whenever possible for the last week, and have been super happy with them. I've found that most people get around the same ping to Iowa as they do to Chicago, with some people better and a few worse. Tibby was getting ~30 ping to Iowa, and normally gets ~60 to Chicago. I'm super excited for this partnership :)

I would recommend people test their ping on the Iowa server. It's the most central location that is currently being provided of the three. Like DubThink stated, most people do get around the same ping to this location as they do to Chicago.

Seems like a cool contender to Serveme. I think Serveme will always be here, but it's good seeing another solution gaining ground.
I hope for this to be successful, and maybe even become more efficient as it grows in this environment.

Hey, @ire we are currently working on a solution for our exclusive servers to add top tier DDOS mitigation; however, it is relatively costly. In the meantime, we have been trialling a solution in Australia to hide the server session, so it can't be found.
Here is a quote that we delivered to our partners:
To ensure server costs don't increase for both us and any exclusive deals, we have implemented an update that has been getting tested in the AUS/NZ region.
Specifically, in reference to DDOS attacks, our bookable servers have been made to stay hidden in server browsers; this means with the servers randomised IP address at book time, players can remain offline before entering the server, completely obscuring the details of their match.
If the attacker can't find the details of the match in the first place, they are unable to begin attacking the server.
We reference this feature at the bottom of our support section here. So as long as players, producers and casters are offline before entering, it should keep server details hidden.

At the request of individuals wanting us to expand our exclusive server location range to more unique areas. Effective immediately we have opened locations at Oregon, Los Angeles, Montreal, North Virginia and South Carolina under our current provider.
We are working on expanding our central locations by finding a provider for both Dallas and Chicago. Currently, these locations are undergoing testing before we are comfortable with releasing them into our trial batch.

RGL partnership is great to hear, and hiding/randomizing IP's should be effective in preventing DDOS. Gotta say tho, imo you should just invest mostly in the central areas rather than Oregon for example. Maybe if the Portland Burnsiders are playing a match vs an entirely west coast team it would make sense, but otherwise it seems pretty silly to be paying for such a decentralized location. From the perspective of fairness and preference for tf2, more servers in chi/iowa/kansas >>> servers spread out across the country.

The server locations are sub-par, but everything else seems good. I'd rather you invest in Kansas, Dallas, etc.

The expansion at the request of certain individuals in North America doesn't burden us with extra overhead @bearodactyl to those certain locations. Our setup with our current provider allows us to cover all those locations and because those areas are out of the way, they are placed on exclusive only locations to ensure they do not increase as I said before overheard costs. Again, at the moment we are sourcing more central location options that we are satisfied with before we proceed in placing them into the trial phase.

I cant speak for anyone else but the Iowa servers are a joy coming out of AZ, phx and glendale with cox. Getting stable 60-70ms vs 80-110 depending on the provider. Routing took a shit coming out of here once level3 acquired whatever around 2014-15?
Connecting to socal is roughly 60-70 still from my location and the old FP and TN servers in phx were 40-50 back when they were still relevant. Never tried a VPN in tf2 and hoping to be pleasantly surprised when I run into a SC server.

All jokes aside, I'm super happy to see a competitor to serveme pop up and once they get Chicago locations in the mix I'd be happy to support them.

I previously have played CS:GO and that would have been a great meme. I'll be waiting for those banana skins in CS:GO! As for the Chicago location, we have found a provider we are interested in and can't wait to test them soon.

Hey Guys,
I am looking for a couple of people to contact me via DMs that are interested in helping us test a couple of providers for a Chicago location. Again, just please contact me over Discord (Kodyn#0001) with your Discord ID and I'll add you to the list of people that have access to that location.

Hey Guys,
Just to keep everyone updated, we would like to announce that we have officially begun testing Chicago servers and hopefully soon releasing a set of free servers to open up the testing to a broader audience.
As we promised before if the trial phase continues to show demand on our free servers, we will move to permanently support the region. We have high hopes in our Chicago provider being suitable for the quality requirements we seek.
To touch on some future figures as well, since we understand that Chicago seems to be the favoured location for the majority of players, our team has secured a partnership with a provider there to give us the capabilities in scaling to 60+ servers if needed; this assumes that we are satisfied with the quality during testing.
We look forward to working with many of you in delivering a high standard of service and expanding the available options for your scene.

Hi all, our Booking v1 update is now live!
Updates include:
- Server reservations are now available for premium users with the reserve command (see our docs for more details.)
- The status command has been redone to better display info for each region.
- The book command no longer defaults to Sydney when sent without an argument, and will instead return an explanation on the command.
- Server details will no longer be sent before a server is fully joinable.
- Added the resend command to have server info sent again.
- Added an rcon control panel so that you can manage your server from a browser. This link is included in your booking details.
Additionally we are trialing the ability to use Reginald in other Discord servers (as you saw in the RGL Winter Cup). This is not currently available for everyone.
We hope that you continue to find our service useful, don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any issues or suggestions.

Hi all,
We have some fantastic news for our fellow North American players that, as of today Chicago has a new provider that will take the role as our primary provider for that location.
Here are some measurable benefits that you should experience:
- Much faster server booking times
- Much faster server unbooking times
- Our team can deliver faster updates to our images
- 80gbps DDOS protection on bookings with this provider
- Increased resources should inhibit the ready-up crashing issue
- Eliminating the rcon issue that plagues the previous provider
Thank you for the continued feedback we receive from our members, and we will continue in trying to deliver actionable responses to that end.
EXTRA: Although this is our new primary provider, the previous provider will continue to be used as a backup. Furthermore, section 4 in the updates above does mention DDOS protection, but we will still advise you to follow our recommendations outlined in our documentation (https://docs.qixalite.com/support/help/services/bk-service.html#avoiding-attacks-on-servers) to avoid getting attacked in the first place.
