While TF2 seasons may come and go, the Invite shuffle never stops. With that KUOD Damage has recently undergone two roster changes as we enter the midpoint of the season.
First off long-time medic veteran lucrative has decided to step down from KUOD Damage to join golden in abandoning Invite to get The Box Tap back together under Predatory Lending Practices to try and fight for an Advanced title after being knocked out completely. After starting his TF2 career in ESEA Season 2, lucrative has been an Invite mainstay known for playing on staple teams such as MAD LUXURIOUS and Kings Crew. Last seen playing Invite in Season 2 on the aforementioned MAD LUXURIOUS, along with current KUOD Damage players pauldogg and namesake KJKUOD.
After getting 2nd with the team, lucrative rejoined his Luxurious pals and created KUOD Damage. Yet after only 2 weeks of having a times 4 multiplier, he had stopped playing the majority of games for the team, and by the end of week 3 he had officially left the roster.
However in his replacement comes another old Invite veteran. indust first reached invite in ESEA Season 14 playing for Apocalypse Gaming. The seasoned Medic played with iconic teams like iT and Mad Men, and following a stint in ESEA Season 21 with -bird noises-, he took a long hiatus before eventually returning to the TF2 scene in Season 1 of RGL on Glove World. After spending a couple of seasons in Div-1, indust returns to Invite as KUOD Damage’s new medic.
Secondly, the namesake of the team, Mr. KJKUOD himself, has decided to step down from his scout role. Ed as he is commonly known, first made Invite in ESEA Season 31 on the aptly named Ed Head team. He then continued on to MLX and most recently Season 4's GlobalClan. In his stead will be Nate neight Rivers. Another long-time veteran to the TF2 scene, neight debuted in Invite during RGL Season 3 with the rest of the MAD LUXURIOUS gang.
Additionally, the team has played some of their recent matches without Demoman STOCK, while he deals with some personal issues. SIN K4RMA has been their go-to ringer thusfar, and powered them through an upset win against Rebirth Esports.
pauldogg provided some insight on the team's expectations going forward with this new roster:
The goal for the roster originally going into the season was to make playoffs, we were confident we would achieve that. In preseason we were very strong, so we had high hopes. The first match, however, we lost and honestly since that match it has been downhill. More and more losses, less and less synergy, motivation, and fun. This resulted in Lucrative leaving the team first, due to not having fun overall and making it not worth his while to commute home a two drive from work right into scrims. A week or two later, Ed (KJKU0D) also decided to take a break from TF2 and just back up for us. This led to two new pick-ups. Indust on medic and Nate Rivers (Neight) on flank scout. I've played a lot with both of these guys, they're my homies. So when I asked them for their help, they said no problem.
He further commented on the team's current expectations and his thoughts on the Invite division overall saying:
Overall the goal of the team is nonexistent lmao. We've decided for now to just be a match-only team (scrims before matches if any are available.) My goal is just to relax and have fun with my friends, it was a nice try but I think our expectations were shattered early on, past a point of recovery. Invite is a tough crowd this season, but that's a good thing
One third different, but still just as 4x, KUOD Damage is now:
- Scout: neight
- Scout: phone
- Roamer: Alexandros
- Pocket: pauldogg
- Demoman: STOCK
- Medic: indust
