yo

im moving houses and moving my pc they have advised its a good idea to remove the gpu, hard drive and cpu cooler (this one especially because i think my joctua d-15 is bigger than most coolers)

i just have three questions

1. should i also removing the mounting things? they are screwed in pretty tight and they arent very big so i dont think they would cause an issue. also i dont have anywhere to store those

2. do i have to unplug all the psu stuff from the motherboard

3. should i take out the psu too?

just removing things you listed will be sufficient. my hard drive recently died in a move bcus I was too lazy to remove them lol (I just unseated the gpu and rested it in the case, everything else is working A okay)

I have moved my PC 4 times and never once had a single issue, just make sure everything is screwed in properly and that it's packed into your vehicle properly.

dont need to worry about ESD, its pretty irrelevant nowadays. i just throw mine in the passenger seat and throw the seat buckle around it, granted i dont have a huge tower cooler. maybe throw some real cushy pillows/comforters under it incase you hit a big pothole but other than that it'll be fine.

Mobo side down, then the weight of the cooler or the GPU doing a little wiggle dance on every speedbump shouldn't be a problem. Though obviously removing them altogether is the safest option.
The rest can stay where it is, plugged in.

If you take out the HDD make sure it's secured during travel, the thing getting yeeted by hard braking and hitting something solid is the only real danger. That's actually less likely to happen when it's screwed into a case that's lying down on a non-slippery surface.

my concern with the HD is because one of Linus tech tips assistants throws like wrapping paper on a HD and he loses his shit so i just think its the most delicate thing

if it's not on/spinning, just don't throw/drop it and you're good lol, it'll almost definitely be fine.

you shouldn't be keeping any mission-critical/ important files only on one HDD anyways

I only ever take out my gpu (currently a 3090 so it's huge) and transport it in its original box. i would do the same if i had an air cpu cooler

everything else is fine as long as your pc isn't held together by glue/tape lol
