For a while, I don't remember how long or what I might have done to cause this, my tf2 alt-tabs:
- surprisingly fast; i run the game at fullscreen, or think i am (i have -fullscreen and my res in my launch options and the game says i'm running full screen in video settings) but my alt-tabs are uncharacteristically near instant unlike how they used to be
- jacks up my sensitivity way higher than it feels most of the time when i play now, but then slowly and smoothly slows down to something that feels way slower than it used to, before i had this problem
Basically, the sensitivity I set is for some reason much slower than it's supposed to be (from what I can tell), but it feels regular when I alt-tab back in and then it gets worse, and I'm not sure why; this also happens in other source games like CSGO for some reason and even Quake Live (which uses the same sensitivity as source) which almost makes me think this is all placebo but I don't know how I'd just completely forget what my sensitivity feels like, and it doesn't explain how it starts higher than usual when I alt-tab in and then mellow out; games like Reflex and Overwatch feel how I remember
Setup notes and what I've tried:
- I've tried it with multiple mice with multiple DPIs (but both were Logitechs; with and without the '''gaming software''' installed); increasing DPI and the sensitivity value does effect sensitivity but it's not much of a hotfix
- I only have one monitor
- I'm using mastercoms comp (would have gone through the thread but it's 40 pages deep; looked through the vpk and haven't found anything that sounds like the problem I'm facing) but from what I can tell I have the same problem if I run -default in launch options
- Raw input is on, mouse filter and acceleration are off
- I'm using the MarkC Windows mouse fix
Anyone know what I can do or troubleshoot? Here are my launch options
-novid -nojoy -nosteamcontroller -noff -softparticlesdefaultoff -reuse -w 1920 -h 1080 -fullscreen -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd

I've encountered this a few times recently, and when tabbing back in, my sens is probably 10x slower than it normally is. I've only fixed it by restarting tf2 but this never happened prior to the last week or so

iirc it's a bug with shift+tabbing rather than alt+tabbing? seems like steam issue rather than a game issue, as it happens in csgo as well

wtf this happened to me literally just now. i rang for a scrim and my sensitivity just shot down randomly, i couldnt even do a 180.

yeah i was wondering if this was only me, I turned steamUI off for now. when I go out of shift tab my game would freeze for a second, and randomly my sens would get super low.

Try disabling steam overlay, I think it's something to do with the lovely highly functional steam overlay

ngl i thought it was logitech's g hub causing issues. Ive uninstalled that and havent had issues since, but could just be a coincidence :/
edit: def not g hub thats causing it

I don't know if this is related but steam released a client update today that fixes sensitivity issues related to the in-game overlay.

ok glad i'm not the only one who was getting an arm workout after opening the overlay. did that steam update today fix it?

I had this crap yesterday during scrims. I thought my 5 years old mouse is about to die, lmao.

Seem to be fixed now.
