clamwhy do people stop to take pictures and video instead of help? i understand it needs to be documented, but why to this point?
If EMS is there it's probably better to get out of the way and let them do their job.
They interviewed a photographer who was near the explosion and he said he did a mixture of taking pictures and helping people.

There are people there who know what to do and can do it because they have been trained for it. Then there is every normal day citizen like you and me. You have to let those people do their jobs and don't get in their way. That's how you help.

There were hundreds, if not thousands of people there. All of them attempting to help victims is pointless and would only complicate things.
edit: ninja'd by like 4 people

The world is a fucking scary place. I'm seriously afraid of everything when I leave my house. It's getting to the point where if not already there, that we have to live in constant fear

The world is safer than it's ever been. Insert corny quote about living in fear means the terrorists won but it is kind of true.
A marathon seems like such an odd thing to hit. It was likely a domestic crazy-person.

My heart goes out to anyone who is there or knows someone up there. I'm sure the authorities are doing the best they can to make sure everyone is safe.

I mean, I agree with your points, but I have just accepted that I'm going to die some day and I have no real way of knowing when that day will be.
Still doesn't make stomaching stuff like this any easier, I'm just saying I don't see a point in living in fear.
I'm only 15 so I still have a long time to go, but a lot of what I've seen on the news is terrible. Maybe I'm just paranoid and nothing will happen to me but none of those people should have been in that. Nobody should

The best you can do is take it easy on the news once you see your sources start to repeat themselves.
Terrorism is very effective because it makes people panic -- staying calm but informed is the best possible action. No need to immerse yourself in the inevitable flood of high-res images & video coming out of the site.

A marathon is a good target apparently we are talking about it in my emt course and think about it large crowds, people from different nations running as well, and it's just an everyday activity they want to promote fear. It's times like these people need to help each other out in whatever way they can and be thankful for those in your life

Sure bad stuff happens all the time, but the world is honestly the best it's ever been (for humans anyways). We don't live in a perfect world but if you grew up in a nice enough country you have so much opportunity.

I don't know if someone mentioned this but there was a total of 5 bombs so far, at least that I know of. The first 2 that exploded and injured 22/23 and killed 2, and a third that exploded at the library but killed no one, only leaving the library aflame. The other 2 were dismantled.
edit: I guess a bomb exploded at the subway too???

This guy won't shut the fuck up about it being a conspiracy. He's getting slammed pretty hard about it.

dont fully believe anything you hear at this point, media outlets are RUSHING to get content out as quickly as possible, they sometimes get as desperate as to release a rumor as the truth

Fucked up to say, but I just hope the person who did this was white, any racial group will face the full scrutiny of America once the details starts to come out

The NY post is a pos tabloid apparently and they started the Saudi rumor, i wouldn't pay too much attention to it.
Edit: they also reported 12 dead while other news outlets only talked about 2
