I generally get 8-9 hours every night, but for some reason missing a meal later in the day has a much harsher effect on me than losing sleep does.

my insomnia pills don't really help me sleep too much, so staying up till 1 AM and sleeping 5 hours before school is really the best I can do

NoonaHow much sleep is enough would you think? On average I sleep 7-9 hours a night during school weeks. On breaks it sometimes varies to around 12-15 :P How much sleep do you guys get?
if you're woken by a third party, such as an alarm clock, you're sleep deprived.

I used to sleep very little but I've changed my ways

I get 4-6 hours of sleep a night. I would say this is partially do to gaming, I'd probably stay up either way. I stay up late out of habit, and generally get through the day fine (though I'm tired at points), so in my mind I'd rather have 2 hours more in my day than 2 hours more sleep. I probably won't keep this up as I get older though; being 20 is easy.

kirbyIf anything, my procrastination to get off the internet in general and go to sleep is more of a problem than video games themselves.
Oh god this so much. I'll get off games then get distracted by everything else for an hour or two.

I love sleeping. Going to bed can sometimes take a while, but once I'm asleep I can sleep forever. I usually can't though because either someone wakes me up, or I have class.

anywhere from 7-9 hours on schools days, maybe 8-10 weekends. I wish i could sleep in, but my fucking body wont let me sleep past 8:30 or so on weekends. :/

I am almost always sleepy regardless of how much sleep I get. Yay medication.

I have the testosterone of an 8 year old. So it's more of a lack of drive/depression issue for me with not sleeping. It's a weird problem to have. But video games definitely can contribute to a lack of sleep. Your monitor puts light into your retinas, making your brain think it's still day; which causes the lack of sleep.

I try to sleep before 11 on school nights, and on weekends before 3. The biggest reason for this is basically that everything stops being fun when you can't think straight. That, and pugs and stuff usually die out around 11.

I have early class two days out of the week, those nights I'll only get around 6-7 hours of sleep. Otherwise I can sleep in (and always do). Sleep is nice.

I generally sleep for about 6-7 hours a night, but I do tend to stay up later just so I can get those extra hours of tf2 in.
So yes.

I get +/-5 hrs of sleep a night, but not because I'm staying up playing video games ;-;

Ever since high school started I've swung between periods of not being able to get more than 5-6 hours a night and sleeping 13+ hours a day. Recently I haven't been able to sleep more than 7 no matter what I do and I've gone through a myriad of different issues with it.
I wouldn't ever contribute a lack of sleep to video games though.

Eh, sleep is for the day time.

To get to sleep I either have to stay up for an absurd amount of time until I'm so tired I can't keep my eyes open, or smoke a bunch of pot. I function pretty well on like three hours of sleep though.

i usually sacrifice sleep to play games and do well in school, but this semester has basically flogged all my game hours so i basically sleep on the weekends and do school shit for about 18 hours a day

Gaming doesn't specifically affect my sleeping pattern, as much as having American friends does.
Time zones and all that, I gotta stay up late to play games with them.

Another thing I've noticed is I can function much better running a nocturnal schedule. I just like the night a lot better, no one to bother me, it's quiet and dark, what more could you want?

The computer seems to keep me up because there is just so much to do. But as far as sleep goes, that's what class is for.

Sleeping is what those easy history and science classes are for.

cosmophilicSomething about staring at a screen makes it hard to sleep. It's easy to get stuck to it late at night. I don't use it myself, but some people swear by a little program called flux that changes the colors on the screen at night to try to mitigate the moth to a lightbulb feeling.

holy shit flux is awesome.

I don't think video games have an effect on my sleep unless I'm already stressed about something.
I try to go to bed at around 11 every night but for the past 2 weeks its been 1 AM every night and up at 6 AM and I've been dead just because of a stupid amount of work.
No matter how much sleep I get, unless I wake up naturally I will wake up exhausted -- just slightly more exhausted when I get a very small amount of sleep.

HellbentNo one ever needed sleep now did they
Hellbent ruined my sleep and convinced me i dont need to over sleep im perfectly fine with 5-6 hours of sleep i sleep around 1-12 and wake up at 6:30. It's not that bad because i get to fall asleep in class on a boring day if im really tired which is really hard for me to do haha

until you're running a system where you promise your body you'll sleep on days off you're not sleep deprived. somehow my body has accepted this, and allows me to get 4-5 hours 5 days a week, then 10-12 on my days off and im good to go

Working night shifts mess up my eating and myt sleep schedule. When I don't work I usually stay up 'til 3-4 am playing DotA or something like that.
