i had been using an old plastic chair to sit in for a good couple of years and yesterday it just kinda fell apart via the legs bending extremely (it wasn't a weight issue BTW, it was just old) so i need a good chair somewhere in the 100-150 range. thanks
go to a department store with office chairs and shop around and sit in the chairs, and avoid the awful racer gamer chairs, its sinple really
Stay away from office max / office depo, staples, etc. they have the most ridiculous prices for computer chairs.
if u live in/near a big city u can sometimes find steals on good chairs on craigslist. i managed to get a slightly broken steelcase leap for like 160 (but im in NYC so there r loads of office chairs floating around). its hard to get much out of 100-150 so just hit up a staples for something comfy or save ur pennies for something from https://www.autonomous.ai/office-chairs
workpro quantum 9000 pretty good herman miller clone for less then half the price
I had bought a Herman miller aeron but it was kinda shit and not worth 1500 bucks so I returned that bitch and got this instead. I've been pretty happy with it so far
i got a herman miller aeron for 430$ from craigslist. there are people that buy them in bulk from offices that downsize or whatever and they're usually in pretty good shape. def worth for under 600-700 but anything above is probably pushing it for just a chair
gf bought me this one https://respawnproducts.com/products/respawn-110-pro-racing-style-gaming-chair
Mostly satisfied, I'm not heavy and the cushion kind of gave out kind of quickly within 2 months but in general <$200 chairs are only going to be durable if you only use it 2-4 hrs at a time. Price goes higher the longer you will be able to occupy it and it still remain comfortable.

Under no circumstance should you buy a cheap gaming/racer chair, These are awful, a massive waste of money and are a literal pain after a few weeks. If you have the budget for it, go for an ergonomic chair (Herman Miller, Steelcase, Humanscale, Haworth) These usually have a great warranty (10-12years), and buying used is also a great option. If your budget is tight I would go for a basic ergo chair from IKEA/amazon (sihoo, hbada etc.)
this ikea chair is goated (jarvfjallet)

buy a cheap chair from a brand that makes office chairs, not gaming chairs. even their cheaper office chairs are extremely high quality
i honestly found herman miller mid-back chairs to be just as bad on my upper back as any standard office chair, i figure they are designed for average sized humans only because there was genuinely 0 appeal to the chair for me
ive heard good things about the secretlab titan from fellow tall people, doesn't seem like there's an alternative

u could try the herman miller embody which has a high back but imo for a long time sitting i honestly prefer to have no headrest/back that extends beyond my neck and at 6'3 the aeron is pretty comfy
