Hi mastercoms, I'm trying to customize my config as I use multiple PCs, so I would like to have every option that I use all in this one config, rather than enabling anything from the options menu but I have a few questions which I can't find the answer to in your docs:
Whats the command to hide the vote kick menu after voting? With all of the bots on casual, this UI is on my screen 90% of the time.
Whats the command to show the item colors in the backpack? From your docs it should be cl_showbackpackrarities 1 but it doesn't work in my autoexec (but I know my autoexec works because i tested it).
I have a lot of commands in my tf/cfg/overrides folder (the essentials like fast weapon switch, auto heal etc along with the personal preference stuff and all my weapon scripts, sens so on so on) which is starting to feel like a second comfig. Once I figure out the commands for everything, Can i turn this into a VPK like the custom folder? Or if not, is it worth me extracting your config, putting all my stuff in there, and making it one big vpk? Yes this will make updates harder but VPKs are more beneficial yes?

Maybe cl_vote_non_input_alpha 0 will work. There used to be cl_vote_ui_active_after_voting 0 but it got removed in June 21 2022
I'm not sure why cl_showbackpackrarities wouldn't work, I'll look into it
You can make it into a VPK, just drag a folder containing it onto vpk.exe, no need to extract the main comfig
Sorry for the delay!

Hi all, you may have heard that huds.tf is shutting down at the end of this month. In response, I'm working on an alternative HUD listing that uses a more modern setup. The basis for this is the HUD DB repo: https://github.com/mastercomfig/hud-db. This is a GitHub repository that stores all data for the HUDs. I am still working on the format and open to any feedback. HUD authors can follow the instructions in the README to learn how to submit and update their HUDs in this repo. The main thing is that HUDs are required to be on GitHub, this allows us to query information about the HUD and preserve version downloads without any overhead to the site.
The initial prototype for displaying the HUD DB is available here: https://comfig.app/huds
Peaches has moved over his HUDs, and I've included 2 example listings for 7hud and budhud. Hopefully I will touch base with omni on accessing the huds.tf data for migration purposes. If not, I plan to scrape it before it goes down and migrate everything over. Also, HUD authors are welcome and encouraged to make their own submissions. Let me know if you have any questions.
I've also migrated all of the huds.tf guides over to the mastercomfig docs: https://docs.mastercomfig.com/latest/tf2/huds/
Regarding hitsounds, I'm still working on a plan for those, but I do definitely want to provide people with an easy way to access and download hitsounds.

I'm still figuring some stuff out, this is just a prototype/demo. Will announce any final plans for it when everything is settled.

All HUDs are now imported from the mega list, if they have a GitHub repo associated: https://comfig.app/huds
Also made some minor UI improvements here and there. Next I'll be working on search, sorting, and more!

Added realtime search! Filters are coming soon too, and hopefully I'll have some more exciting news to share in a few days!

Hey mastercoms, I have a simple question. I love the medium preset but would like to enable high quality shadows. What's the easiest way to achieve this? Would it be to modify the vpk or add a command to my autoexec? Again, I just want the shadow detail to be highest but everything else the same

Thanks for your response. I created a folder tf/cfg/overrides and in there put modules.cfg and in that file I put the following line of code
shadows=ultra
I must not be doing it right as shadows are still medium

The video settings are not accurate. Medium quality shadows are the highest quality shadows used in TF2. If you'd like to enable higher quality shadows for flashlights, you can use the flashlights module.

Let me explain more what I'm trying to achieve. If you go into advanced video options in game, the drop down for shadows has low medium and high.
Having this setting on high basically allows you to see player models through walls at times.
Therefore I'd like this to be set to high regardless of the preset I'm using, if possible.

Yes, I understood that. Medium has no difference with high in that regard. High is only used for flashlight shadows, it has no effect on shadows for normal gameplay.

I’m having some trouble with running in windowed borderless. I feel input lag or a low refresh rate is the only way to describe it, are they’re any settings to change or optimise to fix it?

Windowed borderless mode sadly gives input lag and I don't think theres a fix for that, just use fullscreen
(also disable fullscreen optimizations if ur on windows 10, they only make alt-tabbing a bit faster but give input latency)

mastercomsDo you have antialiasing enabled?
No, although turning it on does give more input lag.

How do I change the interp setting of only ONE class while using mastercomfig? I want to change the network settings for when I play spy, but the default mastercomfig settings are fine for the other classes. How do I proceed?
If I use the module snapshot_buffer=custom all the other classes are affected.
I do not quite grasp how to use Network Aliases:
Network Aliases¶
These aliases are used by mastercomfig to apply network settings per class (as listed below) when using the snapshot_buffer=auto module level.
You can run them manually in your class config if you play a subclass, like Demoknight (net_hitscan) or Huntsman (net_projectiles).
You can also re-alias them to use your own network settings.
net_projectiles: Alias for network settings on projectile classes (Soldier, Pyro, Demoman, Medic) (snapshot_buffer_low).
net_hitscan: Alias for network settings on hitscan classes (Scout, Heavy, Engineer, Sniper) (snapshot_buffer_safe).
net_spy: Alias for network settings on Spy (snapshot_buffer_safe).
How does this work? I put net_spy in /cfg/overrides/spy.cfg and then what? net_spy cl_interp x?

I suppose what I need to know is how to re-alias these setttings - what exactly to write and where, or the mastercomfig values for the default snapshot_buffer i.e. what interp value does snapshot_buffer_low (projectile) have? It doesn't say. snapshot_buffer=safe (hitscan) has 30ms of interp so that would be cl_interp 0.030. I could just use custom snapshot buffer and then put these default values in every class config except spy, but if someone could tell me how to re-alias the settings in the module that would be really nice and less cluttered.

if you want to realias something do
alias [the command] "[your settings]"
so if you want to realias net_spy for example you do
alias net_spy "your settings"
