The LAN Downunder 2023: Australia's Christmas in July Event Returns with New Format and Exciting Matches
Get ready to celebrate Christmas in July with the highly anticipated LAN Downunder 2023 event in Melbourne, Australia. This year on July 8-9th, the event features twelve teams and introduces a new format. Dive into the details of this event, happening at the GIC Esports Arena and set to be the largest APAC TF2 LAN with over 130 attendees.
Format
To accommodate the increased number of teams, the round robin stage has been split into two groups: Group A and Group B. Each group consists of two Premier teams, two Intermediate teams, and two Open teams. In their respective groups, teams will compete against each other to determine the playoff seedings.
At the conclusion of the group stage, the top two teams from each group will automatically advance to the Quarter Finals. The remaining eight teams will engage in a play-off series, where they will face off against teams from the opposite group. All matches will be played Bo1 on predetermined maps until the Semi Finals, Bo3, and the Grand Final, Bo5.
