Most of it are pretty bad choices. Change the CPU to an AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition. Also, instead of a 800W psu, go for 600W-700W.

How I'd do a budget $900 build:
$200 for i5 CPU
$150-200 for GPU (whatever is on sale)
$150 for monitor (generic one)
$100 mobo
$50-100 PSU (you need only 600W at most)
$50 case
$50 RAM (RAM doubled in price since last year, I wish I upgraded earlier)
$50 for 1TB HD

any spare money get your DVD drive and maybe an SSD, but I have yet to use my DVD drive in about 6 months. You should just take an old one, use it to install the OS (or better, do a flash drive install). Overclocking is optional.

uh the motherboard doesn't even support the cpu. I'd go with something more recent like the fx 4300, 6300, or i5's/8350. the amd phenom processors are socket am3 and the motherboard u picked was am3+. Let me try to fix it up give me a little bit.

That's what i was going to go with but that's on the expensive side. I suggest using most of what i used except the monitor, maybe a cheaper GPU, and ofc the keyboard and mouse. If you can't squeeze the i5 3570k and the motherboard, you can go with the fx 6300 and the motherboard you selected.

I would say go for an i5, get the Source 210 in any color as a case, and for your GFX Card get a 7850 or something similar and you can have maybe 500 dollars left for everything else

Horrible PSU: Never go under 80 Plus Bronze and make sure to buy from trusted brands (Antec HCG, some Corsairs, Cougar, Enermax, Seasonic). Don't even look at the price, you won't regret it. Really weird motherboard choice: If you go with the i5-3570K you should buy a motherboard that supports overclocking, I recommend the ASRock Z77 Pro3. Rest is okay I guess :)

If you arent going to oc then don't buy a aftermarket cooler. Especially if you go with the Phenom II x4 BE, which has a very good stock cooler. Also your psu is overkill, 500 watts is fine I think unless you plan to sli/crossfire.

Although the stock cooler is pretty good, it's actually REALLY LOUD.

I used it for 5 months, and thought that it was fine. Then again, it was winter and I keep my room cold so it never maxed the fan ever. Also go to r/buildapc on reddit and post your build there. They are very good at budget builds and will probably offer more help than here.

Agreed. I upgraded mine to a Scythe Mugen which was about €40. It reduced my temps by about 20 Celsius and is inaudible.

This is what I'd do. It's so easy to pirate OSes nowadays, or you should have a license key of Windows 7 sitting around somewhere with your old computer's stuff.

If you can't find your copy, or don't want to torrent an OS, then you can cut down on the GPU. If you plan to spend more on your build in the future, then downgrade the GPU to a 650 Ti Boost or a 7790 and go for a 3570k/8350. If you can splurge +10$ for a better case, I'd recommend a Corsair 200R. Very beautiful case, very room, lots of fan slots, and it's really loaded for the 60$ price tag.

Also, if you plan to add more money in the future for a 2nd GPU or something, make sure you have a 550W or higher PSU

I didn't want to get an expensive PSU and i thought 630W was fine for me especially since it's continuous but since I a lot of people say corsair is an amazing brand i guess i'll find one that is Corsair or something else better. Don't all mobos support OC'ing?

I think you've had enough good feedback but
1. buying a monitor should be the least important and is something that should be bought on sale (http://promotions.newegg.com/NEemail/latest/index-landing.aspx) after you buy your computer parts.
2. Don't buy windows

not really but it's more of a thing with the CPU, AMD cpus are cheap power and although rate a little high in that power department, have a short lifespan and aren't really capable of more than face-value.

keep your hands of overclocking.
You will most likely reduce the lifetime of your components by doing it wrong / without good enough cooling (especially the VRMs)
I'd suggest amd just for the sake that I used their products since I grew up and never had problems, despite them being cheaper.
Quad-core and a 2gb decent graphics card should be your goal (gtx660 for example)

I have a phenom x4 945 (95W) and a overclocked hd5770 ( 120W) a 500 GB HDD a 120 GB SSD a DVD drive loads of fans almost passive cooled everything and I have a freaking 350W psu it is almost under full load though all the time but just keep that in mind, anything over 500w would be a waste of money.
