raysI haven't tested this yet as I have been busy setting up my new PC the past few days, but if I'm understanding you correctly, when you enabled the cart glow outline in tf2, it breaks the hud? I thought that was a console command that shouldn't have anything to do with huds, but I'll look into it within the next day or so.
I can testify that I personally have the cart glow outline enabled with 0 problems, but it was enabled before I installed rayshud.

TwilitlordHey Rays, I switched to your HUD today and love it. I have one question, though - I realize previews don't work yet, but is there a list somewhere that can show me what each crosshair actually is? I know what I want, but it's really difficult to pick the right one(s) when it's just a bunch of crosshair names.
I took screenshots of each crosshair:

Hey guys, I don't mean to spam the thread, but another update:
Update 1.2 4/19/13:
-Crosshair position is now based off of the aspect ratio/resolution selections. All of the listed resolutions are supported!
-Crosshair setting selections will not maintain their state between sessions like the rest of the options.
KNOWN BUGS:
Enabling konrwings, and wings at the same time will make konrwings invisible.
If there are any issues with crosshairs not being centered, it was probably an error by rays or I. Say something, and we will fix it.

Sorry for the late reply guys - I'm having a fairly hectic weekend. Luckily I was able to sneak onto a PC for a few minutes!
Big ups to chebo for screenshotting all of the crosshairs! while we plan to get previews working in the near future, those images will more than suffice for the time being.

Also, is there some way to implement a brosel-style crosshair switcher? I can do just one crosshair fine, but I'd like to have more than one available to me (I like default for the medigun, for example, but I'd rather use a cross with a dot for needles or wings for when I pub scout).
As far as a crosshair switcher goes, it's possible to have crosshairs for different weapons and different classes via a crosshair switcher, however you must use only the in-game crosshairs. Since HUD crosshairs are mere text entities placed on your screen, they hold no settings to switch on a per-weapon or per-class basis. If you wanted to, you could potentially set up a bind to switch between 2 hud crosshairs by toggling minmode on and off, but that would cause your game to freeze for a second while the hud reloaded, and also toggle the scoreboard. Assuming this doesn't bother you, just set up a keybind to toggle the value of cl_hud_minmode from 1 to 0 and vice versa.

Does this make VPKs or just folders? Also, would it be possible to add an option in the installer for the smaller HudDamageIndicator bars (instead of manually uncommenting them)?

It just makes folders right now. Tree has to leave to work an internship soon, so he rushed to make sure that he could get this out before his departure, so he didn't go through the whole VPK process.
As far as that damage indicator goes, we can do that pretty easily. I'll message Tree about it tomorrow and see if he can throw it in.

Hi rays,
You can see on this image that the numbers of boxes aren't showing fully. Iunno if this is a known bug, I just want to let you know. Although I dont mind it at all.

Version 3.3 is out!
It includes the following fixes:
-Added in a heavy rage meter for MvM.
-Added in mac-compatible fonts.
-Fixed a few misaligned things.
You can get it here:
https://github.com/raysfire/rayshud/archive/7d44a697199126e8fcaf8fa80f8e50617eff1fd5.zip
Or via the installer by Tree:

and here's the installer if you're using Steampipe:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/18079550/rayshud%20installer%20v2%20steampipe.zip
_____
If you're using a Mac and would like to use this hud, then upon installing, navigate to your resource folder. From there, delete both the "Cerbetica" and "Cerbetica_edited" fonts. Then, rename the "Cerbetica-mac" and "Cerbetica_edited" fonts to the names of those you just deleted, replacing them.
Plese note that I don't have a mac though, so these fonts may not be perfectly centered. If they aren't, if you could please provide a screenshot, I'll do my best to update the fonts to font as they should. Thank you.

Yes, that happened to me as well when I first transferred over to steampipe. However, I've fixed that problem in the past, and upon reinstalling it appears that the fix was back in place, so the crate values are showing for me again.
Try reinstalling/updating, and if that doesn't fix the issue then you're welcome to add me on Steam and I'll try and help you there.

Hey Rays, mac user here. The cutting off issue is still there, only this time it cuts off the bottoms instead of the tops.
Screenshots here (idk what's wrong with the first one, that's something with the screenshot itself, it looks fine ingame, but you can still see the cutting off with the word "quickplay")

(gee I hope I got enough screenshots)

Thanks so much for the screenshots, it helps immensely. I added you on Steam. If you don't mind, I have a few test variants I'd like you to try out so we can determine which one works best.

Hi rays, thanks for all the work you've put into this as well as thanks to Tree for the fantastic updater. However I just have some small suggestions:
- In GameMenu.res under versionnumber, change "'command' 'toggleconsole'" to "'command' 'engine toggleconsole'" as clicking on your logo does nothing atm in regards to the console. Additionally in /ui/MainMenuOverride.res you can remove the "command" section for versionnumber as it's already localized in GameMenu.res
- In /ui/MainMenuOverride.res, "ScoreboardToggle" should be localized to GameMenu.res the same way versionnumber is done (make sure to remove the "command" so it's only in GameMenu.res)
- In /ui/MainMenuOverride.res, under "ScoreboardToggle", the parameter set for "command" (engine incrementvar cl_hud_minmode 0 1 1) could be changed to a much shorter param of "engine toggle cl_hud_minmode". Since cl_hud_minmode is a boolean you don't need to specify any values after the cvar.
- Change HUD font boldness through font editing instead of the weight command (specifically for the health/ammo numbers, it's fine everywhere else). The reason I say this is because adding boldness in something like fontlab/PS wouldn't have aliased edges that are quite as pronounced as in here for example (assuming weight was set to 0 for said font in clientscheme.res): https://www.dropbox.com/s/f4pdakf0lajgmyh/2013-04-28%2015_44_10-.png

Thank you for the kind words.
- Yes, I discovered this awhile ago when I was digging through the PVHUD files and realized what I had done wrong. I'll probably fix it in the next update, I kind of forgot about it to be honest.
- Thanks for catching that. The main menu was one of the last things I did, and I suppose I was in such a rush to get it out I wasn't the most consistent. :p
- I had no idea that this was the case. I suppose it doesn't make a difference regardless, but in terms of simplicity, I'll see what I can do about switching the commands.
- Actually, it's funny you should mention this. The font I used (Cerbetica) actually came with a pre-made "heavy" or "weighted" version to it. However, due to my lack of knowledge and incompetence, I couldn't ever install it properly in ClientScheme. I know better now, but never bothered to switch over because no one likes change. :p I'll do some experimentation with it when I get a bit more time and see if it's worth switching over. In terms of font editing though, I'm a tad inexperienced. I've been messing around with the evaulation copy of FontCreator and have also messed around with FontForge (I used them to create the thicker fonts and mac-compatible fonts), but still don't have a lot of experience.
Thanks for the feedback!

If you mean a HUD crosshair, then no. HUD crosshairs can only be enabled via hudlayout.res in your tf/scripts folder.

In order to have the least amount of problems with any HUD, it's always best to do a clean wipe of your resource/scripts folders before installing a new one, just to make sure nothing gets messed up/overwrited that doesn't need to be.

Hey rays, amazing hud, I've used it for quite a while now, and recently updated to Steampipe, and I enjoy using your Installer for it, it's simple and easy to use - aside from previews not working, so I can't exactly grasp what it's going to look like in-game. (Also any updates on fixing the Fighter Pilot crosshair for use on 16x9 + 4:3 resolutions?) Cheers, and keep up the amazing work. c:

Hi there. Is there something wrong with the fighter pilot xhair in a 4x3 resolution? The installer should now support all crosshairs at all resolutions, so assuming that you're on a standard 4x3 resolution, everything should work out.
In terms of what the crosshairs looks like, someone on here was gracious enough to make an album of them all. It can be found here:

Hmm, after a technical difficulty (moreso a brief human error causing the computer to lose power, and thus forcing a system restore for some reason...), I've had to reinstall the hud and dig up my old scripts, the scripts went in fine, the hud went a little less than optimal.
Currently I've settings set up with a combo of wings as the crosshair, (Being WingsPlus, WingsSmallDot, and KonrWings) set up custom colors for the crosshairs + hud, and then I press the Install command on your updater (Steampipe ready). what ensues is the confirmation it installs correctly, but alas, when I go into TF2 and load up a game, I have no crosshairs, none of the colors I edited, and none of the animations selected. It seems to be going on the install I had pre-steampipe, despite me removing it prior to the conversion.

It seems to be going on the install I had pre-steampipe, despite me removing it prior to the conversion.[/quote]

The thing being, it's a fresh updater, and I've had no problem with Wings and KonrWings being enabled at the sametime, by having a outline around them, looks quite nice, but now they're gone entirely. (I've had the new updater for around four days, tech error today, and now the crosshairs have gone, as have the customizations that were proclaimed as "Installed".)

Make sure you're using the new Steampipe updater, and that you have it pointing to the appropriate folder in your PC. (Make sure it's directed to go to steamapps/common/team fortress 2/tf/custom/rayshud, rather than the the old directory of steamapps/<yourusername>/team fortress 2/tf/). Also, if you have any errors with having both wings and KonrWings enabled, it's a bug with the installer. If you have issues with the crosshairs, you'll have to enable them manually in hudlayout.res. We hope to fix this issue in a later version of the installer, but unfortunately it's been a persistent bug we hope to iron out in a later version.
This has been an issue a lot of people have been having with Steampipe, as there aren't clear instruction on how to transfer over custom content properly. Luckily we were able to opt into the beta and prepare an installer beforehand.

I am using the updater v2, as listed, I know of the correct filepath, and while it has worked perfectly, it isn't just the crosshairs, it's that there's a bug or something akin to it, that's preventing the hud from using custom colors + settings (aside from the options on the General + Health as well as a few on the Misc. page). Having no crosshairs doesn't bother me as much as the odd bug preventing the customization of the hud as a whole. (And previously, even after steampipe update ( I immediately switched to the v2 updater), I've been able to use a combination of Wings.
(I'm quite impressed at how fast you two respond to this, it helps immensely.)

Is it just the color settings that aren't saving, or is it just not installing any of your options at all? Because if it's the former, that is indeed odd and I'll have to look in further to be able to help you. If it's the latter, than it just means that either it's installing the hud to the wrong directory, or potentially an issue with steam synchronization.
If you have two drives, make sure that TF2 didn't accidentally get installed on the wrong one when switching over to Steampipe. If you want to double check the drive the game is installed on, navigate to your Steam library, right click TF2, go to properties, then go to the "Local files" tab. At the top of the window it should list the drive the game is installed on.

I've recently done a test run of TF2.
It doesn't save the color settings, It's using the color settings I had pre-system restore. It will install a select few options, the nameplates are all cut off. I'll do a list of things selected and things not "installed".
I currently have one drive, and is installed in the correct location.
