Help a team from Australia and New Zealand attend i49 in the UK!
It's finally here! The stage has been prepared in Telford, UK for the biggest intercontinental Team Fortress 2 event with the attendance of the best teams from North America and Europe already confirmed. With your help we’re hoping to broaden the scope of this international competition at i49, and facilitate the first contest of strength between the three biggest scenes, with the inclusion of a team from the Australian/New Zealand Team Fortress 2 community.
In return for any kind donations we've prepared a range of perks and community stretch goals which can be viewed in detail here.
The initial support from both ozfortress and the global community has been extraordinarily humbling, and if we are successful in reaching our goal we're hoping to represent the community to the best of our ability on the biggest stage ever prepared for Team Fortress 2.

On a personal note, I'd like to extend a thankyou to everyone in the community who has been supportive so far. I'd also like to thank the people who have helped get this endeavour off the ground, specifically Abender, sti, wm and the ozfortress admins, enigma and mana from TeamFortress.tv, and antwa for not being too upset with my 4am banner image requests.
Thanks :)

Awesome!
Altough if the perks are all claimed you will have well over 200-300 hours of mentoring to be done! Seems a bit time intensive, but hey, if it works it sounds great! It sure is a bargain!

Please don't do anything silly trying to get money to us (stealing parents credit card, etc). Even +fragging the OP, posting in the thread is more than enough support for us. We appreciate the positive response

The whole i49 yards is one of the best puns I've seen in a long time. Brilliant.

I didn't even know that you guys were trying to get there too. More Hype next year and the donations will be flowing. Maybe some orgs will notice tf2 and even if not we get to see awesome tf2.

the thing is that south america has 0 coverage and people dont know us, so im not sure if they would pay because there is nothing to make them believe that we are going to give a good show
perfectly understandable

That explains why i can't find much. Amazing that five of you would've paid for the journey out of your own pocket. i52 is still one year away, let's wait for i49 and enjoy it and the soon-to-be-released i46 documentary.
