Terrible audio quality after installing hitsound

So yesterday I installed the Quake 3 hitsound in my TF2, but I noticed that in areas with lots of noise, the audio quality is now a piece of shit. I don't know what I did to change my audio quality, but it sounds absolutely terrible. It's almost like someone turned on maximum reverb on everything. Someone please help.

Are you using an fps config? Some configs make the audio quality horrible. If so, delete the section and set it to something better and see if that helps.

No config. I'm at High quality audio.

I'm an idiot. I posted a reply to you, but somehow I posted it in the wrong thread. Here's what I said:

In tf2, go to options - audio, and if you have quality audio enabled, changed it to low and see if that fixes it.

I'm pretty sure it's the high quality audio. Change it to low quality and you won't have that echo anymore.
