fancy google searches have been bombarded with baitlinks with ads everywhere. public trackers for random dif eqs/linear alg books i'll need soon are like 4 editions behind. is there a secret club im missing out on?

My Thermodynamics professor gave me all the pdfs I'd ever need for my physics classes. So I'm good for the rest of my undergrad courses :P

I have no idea why I got down fragged but 80% of my textbooks came from there. I know that the college themselves pay for it, but the majority of good universities will pay for it.

This. Most of the textbooks I've downloaded have been on file-hosting sites. Also, for some reason, google searching a random sentence/line from the text book will usually bring up a portion of the textbook or the full textbook itself unless its extremely obscure.

Ex. google searching ("because that would violate the principle of revealed preference" pdf) turns up the pdf for a past econ textbook.

#bookz on undernet sometimes (though rarely) has it.

Also, haven't bought a textbook since freshman year. Most of my classes don't even need one, but I am a CS major so the teachers put everything online.

#bookz has been increasingly unreliable as of late. I use #ebooks on irchighway.
Outside of the ones previously mentioned, en.bookfi.org is sometimes good, although it has mostly the same selection as libgen.

That being said, does anyone know good sites for finding cookbooks? I'm trying and failing to get a hold of a couple of Fuchsia Dunlop's works, and it's starting to get frustrating.

2:42 PM - xoxo: whats your question
2:43 PM - greatstalin: so when you search for textbooks, you just pop the title into google and start combing through results, right?
2:43 PM - greatstalin: no sekret klub or specific filesharing search?
2:43 PM - xoxo: hmm
2:43 PM - xoxo: no secret club no
2:43 PM - xoxo: the most useful aggregator is filestube
2:44 PM - xoxo: its not bulletproof though
2:44 PM - xoxo: the most important thing is to look at the format of the urls and the sizes of the files
2:44 PM - xoxo: also dont write something off just because its not a pdf
2:44 PM - xoxo: ive found textbooks in weird open sores formats like djsp
2:44 PM - xoxo: or w/e the hell its called
2:44 PM - greatstalin: neat
2:45 PM - xoxo: once youve spent as much time as i have scourinjg google for textbooks and albums and other shit it just becomes a 6th sense

So sticking with filestube and sifting through google links is the answer I'm getting.
