Last point not being an impenetrable fortress that's 300 miles long.
for the ramps instead of stairs - is it just the clipping on the stairs that is the problem? (for explosions and such?) I'm getting ready to post a map for initial balance testing and I do have some stairs but they are clipped to behave like ramps.
a good balance of health packs and ammo around the map would be nice. its always not enough or way too much.
One thing I really like about process is that grabbing the medium health packs takes a small amount of risk. (the one in computer, the one in sewer, the 2 packs on mid being easily bombable). Makes it a bit more interesting.
