with an album this expirimental and shit you really think he cares about his lyrical content as opposed to keeping the whole feel of the album the way he wants it to be? He's never been one to trade sound for lyrical content.

still need to give it a few more listens. More interesting and successful production than 808 + heartbeats. I like old school Kanye but there's definitely no way thats gonna come back. Hopefully he keeps the focus on making great music.

he doesn't give a fuck because his efforts as a producer are minimal in his approach to sampling and the amount of change he makes to already (original) sounds. if you know anything about engineering you'd know first hand that he is very overrated among hip hop producers with actual raw talent, that actually know the ins and outs of daws and audio gear to create a more original sound from scratch, people overlook that because when you're as rich as kanye is you can create anything with production value that doesn't mean it's actually good, it's just catchy and people buy into it

But the people in the "hip hop community" like his sound, which is why he's been on top for so long. No producer rapper has done it like Kanye, no matter what you say. He started off with high pitched soul samples that were pretty lazy, most of his samples in general are lazy and he's made them work, nobody has done soul samples like kanye, ever since Late Reg and CD.

and who are you to say what is good and what isn't good? Because of the apparent skill it took to make the beat? So picasso's art wasnt good because it wasnt as hard to make as constable's?

Same reason why Immortal technique is the best rapper alive/REAL HIP HOP and future is rap crap because of his "lyrical skill"

I don't really care about the rest of what you said but I really, really hope you're not using fucking Immortal Technique as an example of why people shouldn't want/expect good lyricism from hip-hop artists. There's plenty of great examples of hip-hop artists with great lyricism; I know this might blow your mind a bit but beat production isn't the be all/end all, and not everyone who listens to hip-hop for the words necessarily listens to awful preach-hop like Immortal Technique and Hopsin.

Like whatever you like honestly but when people come in and say "Kanye is overrated because he lacks technical skill" it's pretty annoying. I don't like rappers who focus on lyrics rather than the entire song itself but thats my thing, I like music that is entertaining to me and i can just simply enjoy, I don't want to think to much about it

Of course there is other artists out there that focus on lyrical content but that was just the first artist that came to mind.
