i dont know what it really does and still dont understand. i heard hitscan is 0.033 but on tf2mate i cant set it to flare gun or shotgun. whats the best interp to use for every single class/weapon? is the default one 0.1 fine?
no such thing
generally speaking as low as possible on projectiles and whatever makes your gun reg properly on hitscan

cl_cmdrate 66
cl_updaterate 66
cl_interp 0
alias net_good "cl_interp_ratio 1"
alias net_bad "cl_interp_ratio 2"
net_good
Put this in your autoexec, and run net_bad in the console when you get jitteryness. If you want you can bind net_bad and net_good to a key, or if you really want I can write a little toggle script for you so you can do it all on one button. Just remember it now only works when you are dead.

Anywhere between 0-0.033 is the norm (for the most part).

Unless you're playing a projectile class on something like 0.1 interp then it's a bit concerning.

Yes he is, and he's wrong. I'd recommend 0 as best universal interp too.

I'm saying using .0231432452434324234342 interp isn't going to make you amazing, and there is no universal interp you just have to use .0152 or .033 but go ahead keep on telling me what i'm saying.

All about the 120 hz, interp means nothing
I run 0 for soldier/demo and 0.033 for the other classes

foster, they're just taking what you said to heart... interp DOES matter, the default value is high
when I show friends who've played tf2 for awhile and I show them a lower interp, they think they're hacking

mebesea across the board locks interp at 0.152 or the equivalent
cl_interp_ratio 1
cl_interp 0
so if that's what you practice for, that's what you should practice with
When on an esea server, do your net_graph reflect your actual interp? Because when I change to a class like scout for example, which I have 0.033 interp for, the net_graph shows 33ms lerp. Could esea still be locking my interp but my net graph doesn't show it?

actually I just tried to confirm what I wrote a pug server and while they lock down the cl_interp_ratio command they appear to let you change cl_interp to anything

Yeah I misspoke with my first post, I was thinking this was a thread more about "whats the best interp" like there is some magical interp somewhere that'll make you amazing.

is interp ratio locked at 1 or 2?
so youre free to change cl_interp in esea?

I play sniper best with .1 interp :/
I diddle my interp a bit depending on how I feel I'm aiming that day but I usually do .1 for sniper and .0152 on everything else

soupcupwhats the default interp?
I think it used to be 0.1 but according to the developer wiki it is 0 and cl_interp_ratio 2 is used
