this is what i got back in an email.
Thanks for all of the information surrounding this part of cp_badlands. It is very helpful for us to know when things unexpectedly change in maps and content, and we really appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
The mix up here is that we changed the collision on the widow to be solid in the CP version of this map in late 2008, and have been using this version of the map internally since then - Internally it appeared as if no recent changes had been made to that geometry. However, these changes were never updated to players. When we shipped the map with the recent update, these old fixes as well as the new ones made their way to players.
For now, we would like to monitor how these changes settle as the intent is for that window to not be a player passable space.
Thanks again,
-cAyle

That's just too sad.
At the very least, they seem open to changing it back based on player feedback, so perhaps we should throw a collective e-tantrum at valve?

Now I can stop fearing the invisble Cow Mangler rockets...but no fixes for the Gullywash damaging spawns?

arena_badlands' window has always been solid, so it's probably intentional. I hope they switch it back though :(

Yeah, thats probably the best option. If more of the community emails valve, posts of SPUF, etc. We might be able to get it changed back. Badlands isn't played much in pubs so they might cater to us this one time.

Lemon- When disguised as a teammate, the Dead Ringer will drop the body of the player the Spy is disguised as
Combined with yesterday's nerf, it will be interesting to see if we get any more intelligent use of the dead ringer, rather than spamming it in situations you know you couldn't win in the first place.

Don't just talk about it, do it! If someone could direct me to a relevant email that would be heard, but not overly bother busy people, that'd be nice.
Edit: How do you quote people forums are hard
Edit2: Never mind, that was easy

I would suggest replying to them that this passage way is by now, 5 years later, an integral part of the dynamic of badlands middle point and by altering/updating it they have made a significant unwelcome change despite their original intentions.

You can email the TF Team right there. Someone then may or may not reply back but they'll certainly see it.

It says in the e-mail that it was human error. They haven't made any changes to Badlands in ever, so that change just slipped through and never shipped. It's not like they made the change and kept it internal on purpose.

What's the email you guys use to contact Valve?
And please, if you guys do email, please keep it polite, legible (proper English and grammar) and outline in as few words as possible on why you think certain changes are bad/good. Also it's always good to start off any letter with a positive (thanking them for their efforts, that they've taken changed things because of community feedback, etc).
EDIT: You guys just used the email form and not a staff member's email?

Dear Valve,
Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read this.
I recently read (one of?) your statements regarding the cp_badlands window situation, and understand that it was never meant to be passable and that you feel you simply corrected an old oversight.
While the detail might seem minor to most players, that window is integral to the role of a demoman during any midfights. I believe that its removal makes the map slightly less even and compounds the advantage of whichever side's demoman arrives at mid first.
Competitive players often refer to cp_badlands as the perfect map. It is my hopes that you will not lessen this distinction by removing what you perceive to a glitch after 5 years since its inception.
I will refrain from complaining too much about the Escape Plan nerf, since I rather enjoy seeing all those unimaginative soldier mains floundering in panic, but surely you will receive many other messages regarding it. Please give them a second thought.
Most importantly, thank you for working so hard on the recent update! The past day's been very enjoyable.
Regards,
Am I supposed to put my handle here or my real name?
P.S. I'm sure it doesn't matter to you either way.
Does this satisfy your qualifications, Jas? And yes, I used the email form.

You mean I still can't do an unorthodox rollout involving shouting at my pocket to jump out of the window when the other way is obviously sticky-spam'd? Shit.
