ive uninstalled and reinstalled several times and restarting makes no difference. i'm wondering if maybe i can go back a version or something and maybe then it'll work.
i forgot to say that i tried to run it as administrator and in compatibility mode and it didn't change anything.
Yea, what other programs are you using and have you started using any new programs within the last week?
i tried to make one from task manager but it said, "The operation could not be completed. Access denied." which i assume means i dont have administrator for task manager and i dont know how to fix that.
i haven't started using any different programs, other than installing a few games because of the steam sale.
Try deleting these folders:
C:\Users\[USER]\AppData\Roaming\Mumble
C:\Users\[USER]\AppData\Local\Mumble
They may store malformed info that causes the crash.
there was no C:\Users\[USER]\AppData\Local\Mumble. is that an issue? i tried to launch mumble after i deleted C:\Users\[USER]\AppData\Roaming\Mumble and it did the same thing but it said it was downloading a bunch of plugins that i assume make up the file i just deleted.
Do older versions work for you? 1.2.4 crashed for me all the time but 1.2.3 is perfectly stable, so you might wanna check it out.
1.2.3 doesnt work, but the backwards compatible version does up to the point of entering a server. i think it might be due to the fact that the server im trying to connect to is updated to the point of not allowing 1.2.3. its frustrating because 1.2.4 doesnt have a backwards compatible version, and that's the only one that will work.

Are you running on the admin account or a non privileged account? Try clicking the "show processes from all users" button first.
I have a similar issue with mumble, where it'll cause the game to get progressively laggier until it's completely unplayable. I made this *much* better by running off one core, although the lag still came back after a while.

That post explains what exactly to do.
However, like I said it still happens, just after more time in-game.
