SalamancerI used to play baritone sax in the band, and I annoyed the crap out of the whole woodwind section for a variety of reasons, most of them deliberate. So the director sat me in the trombone section. Whenever we played the fight song, I was able to shut down half of the trombone section due to laughter because I'd play the whole thing a half-step too high.

vilei played tenors and snare, went no-life on drum corp exercises, graduated from high school, never went back to drumming again. tenors gave me some broad ass shoulders. i also played in the macy's thanksgiving parade. shit was like over 3 miles long.
......
i loved santa clara vanguards drumline. i think i might start going to some drum corp shows in the future. that shit is impressive.
Dude, second year on snare here (section leader too), fourth year overall, and my band is marching in the macy's thanksgiving parade this year. Strange coincidence. But I'm so hyped for macy's, great way to finish my senior year.
And SCV is, in fact, the shit.

Senior in high school, snare for four years, section leader and drumline captain this year. Just finishing up band camp. Drumline master race.
I'm pretty sure anybody in corps wouldn't have time to see this thread on tour... but I am auditioning for Phantom Regiment and Colts snareline for 2014!
If anybody wants to talk DCI, I started a DCI 2013 thread from when the season first started. http://teamfortress.tv/forum/thread/9707-dci-2013

I played trumpet from 5th grade until junior year in high school, then played baritone my senior year, but I probably wouldn't have stuck with it throughout high school if most of my friends hadn't also been in band.
