What do you mean by settings? If you can't run tf2 at 144 fp/s, install chris' highframes or maxframes. That's really all you need. Lightboost is GOAT.

Don't use an FPS cap. The game will be smoother without one.

To make sure you are getting your worth out of your monitor do the following (if you haven't already):
Right click your desktop -> Sreen Resolution -> Advance Settings -> Monitor -> Make sure your Refresh Rate is set to 144hz
Ideally you want to cap your fps at 289 fps (Formula for most optimized fps is hz * 2 + 1 = fps cap). This is used to prevent screen tearing and some other stuff I completely forgot about which probably means they aren't too important. If you are unable to run tf2 at 289 fps steadily either get a suitable fps config that will allow you or cap at 144 frames (Which is what I do).
Lightboost is optional, whoever I am not a fan of it as it leaves a huge purpley-blue-ish hue on the whole screen. However, from what I have heard from it, it
s hit or miss; Either you like it or you don't.
That's really all I got. I hope this was useful to you, or at least someone. If I remember anything else semi-important I will edit this and add on to it later.
Enjoy your new monitor :)

Find your average framerate with Fraps or something and cap it there instead of going straight down to 144 FPS

little bit of a threadjack, but if I can run tf2 at upwards of like 600fps, is it actually worth it? Or will there just be too much screen tearing and stuff?

Why would you want to? Also I wonder if that's even possible, considering that tf2 doesn't support crossfire/sli

Just fyi, if you use accel then you want to cap your fps, otherwise your accel will fluctuate.

It's also like 99% cpu based after you reach a certain point with gpu (ie 7870 ish)

Bought a 144hz monitor a month ago, played tf2 with it for a bit, thought I saw a difference. Read this thread, found out I was actually still on 60hz..........

NoonaLightboost is optional, whoever I am not a fan of it as it leaves a huge purpley-blue-ish hue on the whole screen. However, from what I have heard from it, it
s hit or miss; Either you like it or you don't.
Why is it that people complain about the colors in /every/ thread about this monitor? Colors out of the box aren't good, everyone knows this. There are fixes out there so that when you do use lightboost you don't get that hue.

I have the same monitor but I still experience some problems. I do not believe it is a monitor problem at all but something else I cannot find the solution to.
On certain maps I will experience a stuttering effect on my screen. It happens most often on Granary Mid point and Gravel Pit B. I almost never experience this stuttering on any other map or area. Sometimes those areas will be completely smooth and other times it will be unplayable.
A description of the stuttering is simple. As I turn the mouse to aim or RJ, the screen will cease to be smooth and little stutters will cause me to over compensate my aim. This throws off RJ's a lot and aiming is very difficult. The stuttering will stop when I go to Granary 2nd point or Last. I can't explain why.

PERSONALLY, I think the only logical next step would be to send that old bad boy 120 hz on over to the beasmeister

Lightboost is amazing but I couldn't get it to work consistently on my XL2411T, monitor would just keep resetting itself.

I don't recommend capping your fps i've never heard of anyone in tf2 getting screen tearing the worst that could happen is in jump servers you get over 1k fps which makes your game laggy as fuck. also tekk i almost fell off my chair laughing. sorry but that is just hilarious.

Because ICC profiles don't work with fullscreen games.

How is your fps in game? If you aren't getting at least 144 frames per second, you shouldn't be seeing a difference.

Then your particular panel isn't that bad or you're just not noticing it. Pretty much every game changes your color profile in fullscreen.
