NoonaTekkArieTekk*WARNING - INSANE AMOUNTS OF STUPIDITY*

Bought a 144hz monitor a month ago, played tf2 with it for a bit, thought I saw a difference. Read this thread, found out I was actually still on 60hz..........

Have you noticed the smoothness now? You can never go back.

My eyes are melting

I'm glad I/this thread was able to help.

Imagine the possibilities if this thread was never made.

youre welcome ;]

Not_MatlockDon't use an FPS cap. The game will be smoother without one.

I wouldn't do this. If your FPS reaches 1000+, the game will run faster. I just leave mine capped at the default because I'm lazy.

KlausNoonaKlausI got a 144hz monitor, and I dont see any difference ingame. And the refresh rate is set to 144hz so im not being dumb.
How is your fps in game? If you aren't getting at least 144 frames per second, you shouldn't be seeing a difference.
im getting over 144 all the time.

then you're ggglygy

#32 yeah but it'll never reach 1k+ unless he's surfing/jumping which in that case you should cap it at something. i don't like capping fps mainly because i feel like you'll only notice drops more frequently.

DrewDrakeMegrimNoonaLightboost is optional, whoever I am not a fan of it as it leaves a huge purpley-blue-ish hue on the whole screen. However, from what I have heard from it, it
s hit or miss; Either you like it or you don't.

Why is it that people complain about the colors in /every/ thread about this monitor? Colors out of the box aren't good, everyone knows this. There are fixes out there so that when you do use lightboost you don't get that hue.

Search for the line that begins with:1) Download the appropriate ICC profile below and save it to a suitable place
Because ICC profiles don't work with fullscreen games.

Lol what

With a 144hz monitor, if you get 1000+ fps will it still have screen tearing? Cause with my 60hz it has shittons of tearing if I don't cap it at 132

If you get 1000+ fps, TF2 won't work right in general.

hookyIf you get 1000+ fps, TF2 won't work right in general.

After like 400+, it starts to feel like the game is sped up to twice the normal speed
