my question is: will it really make me that much better by buying a 120hz monitor will it "instantly" make me so good? rather than keeping a 60hz..
and of course this is implying you have a computer that can run tf2 @ 120fps+ all the time.
people act like if you don't have a 120hz monitor you cannot be good, or reach your full potential as a scout

a 120hz monitor will make it easier to track people, however you will still need to be able to hit them after you track them...
it will make it easier to hit your shots, assuming you CAN hit them
the smoothness makes it more enjoyable too, derping around in tf2

a 120 hz monitor will stroke your cock ever so sensually while you play.
And telling all your poor friends who cant afford one about your awesome 120 hz monitor will make you super popular as well.

A 21" Trinitron/Diamondtron CRT costs about $40 and should do 120 Hz at 1280x1024. Has a bonus side-effect of heating your room.

LCD monitors refresh in a different way than CRT monitors, and 120Hz isn't actually really a big difference.

Be that as it may, it's true.

true, but LCD's still refresh (update the entire screen) using the same "refresh rate" setting. They each have different mechanisms to refresh but both technologies HAVE to refresh.
tranchemusic... and 120Hz isn't actually really a big difference.
60 updates per second...
120 updates per second...

I notice a difference from 60hz -> 86hz on my LCD...

you're getting frames sent to the screen twice as fast. How is that not a big difference? As long as your screen refresh is faster then 15 ms you're golden.
