downpourHigurashi No Naku Koro Ni is probably my favourite.
The second season is so much better than the first tho, if you watch the first season you HAVE to watch the second.
MAKE SURE TO WATCH THE OVAS IF YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT RUINING EVERY SINGLE IMPRESSION OF EVERY CHARACTER YOU EVER HAD

its a newer gainax show so it'll be fanservicey by nature but its still fun and good enough to be worth watching. It never gets weird unless you watch the movie

I don't really watch much anime myself, but I really enjoyed FMA: Brotherhood and is one of the only series I ever watched all the way through. I also liked watching Cowboy Beebop when it would come on adult swim/toonami and I was still awake, but I've never taken the time out to watch it from start to finish, despite wanting to. A friend of mine used to stream some anime/Kamen Rider occasionally and those were pretty good too I guess.

Dennou Coil - I seriously would recommend this show to anyone.
I also like some of the weirder stuff like Elfen Lied and Serial Experiments Lain, but eh - I'm kind of convinced that everyone who would enjoy them has already heard of them.
The new Fullmetal Alchemist was okay but I couldn't keep my attention span up for it.
Yakkitate!!! Japan is still my go-to when I'm stressed out of my mind. It's a really good show to have on in the background, imo.

All Studio Ghibli films are great, but Kiki's Delivery Service is my favorite anime movie. As for a TV series, probably Fate/Zero or Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

I thought both these shows had really cool concepts and then they ended up being just really generic battle shounens.
I mean I liked Shingeki up until
Show Content
"Eren, you are the titans."

The only anime style thing I've every liked is Katawa Shoujo. Someone recommended Clannad to me and I started watching. 9 episodes in and it's still pretty shit IMO. Can anyone recommend me anything?

i haven't actually played katawa shoujo, but from the wikipedia article it looks like it's a harem drama, so i guess i'd reccomend Monogatari.
Monogatari is about a 18-yr-old with regenerative abilities who meets various girls with different problems concerning the occult, who he helps and befriends

Years ago I used to walk 40 miles uphill both ways to a nearby university where there was an anime club, and a lending library led by bespectacled man children with 5 foot long hair. There would be something like 100 people in a lecture hall watching stuff on a big screen sometimes without subtitles. I went with a Japanese friend, and some gaijin bastard who lived over in Japan for 5 years. We were fantastically geeky to be in a club like this back in middle/high school, but this was before torrents, myspace, facebook, or even napster. This was pretty much the only way to find new anime, and have people to talk about it with. It was a dark world for geeks back then.
Ranma 1/2, Gundam Wing, Evangelion, and Patlabor were the memorable ones I watched back then.

- Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood
- Puella Magi Madoka Magica
- Suzumiya Haruhi no Y?utsu
- Darker than Black
- Clannad
