Finished watching Steins;Gate, and damn, I never thought I would get emotional over tv series, but this one really did.
I'm not really into those "1) fight bad guys 2) lose 3) train and fight again" animes, but this one isn't like those.

it may not be my best, but no anime lights my spirit more than gurren lagann
I havent watched that much anime. However i feel like naruto is one of the best tv shows ever. (ignoring the filler)
just watched mars of destruction and tenkuu danzata skelter heaven must say best 2 anime i've seen for quite some time. Mars of destruction is seriously the best thing i've ever seen go watch it.
Wow what a bump but I'm okay with this
I'm still working through my watch list (actually listening to the OP on Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood as I write this heh) but Madoka Magica is still my favorite by far. Gurren Lagann was pretty good too and so was FLCL even though I had no idea what happened most of the time.

why make a new thread when we can bump this? I don't get why people are unhappy with bumping threads that seem to have a good purpose.

Some of the best shit I've ever watched. The feels were so strong during the Sister's Arc series.

I've watched and enjoyed:
Madoka Magicka
A Certain Magical Index (not enjoying Railgun as much)
Clannad
5 cm/s
Graveyard of the Fireflies
as you can probably tell, I'm into feels-heavy anime, with drama and some action. I'm planning on watching Angel Beats next, but does anyone have any suggestions that seems to match what I've liked so far?
thanks in advance

Welcome to the NHK (also, watch the dub instead of the sub, the english voice-acting is really good)

Steins; Gate, Eve no Jikan, ef: a tale of memories, Kotonoha no Niwa, Haibane Renmei, Rainbow: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin
Only Steins; Gate and Rainbow really have anything resembling action, but given your list you'd probably like these.

cupceicFinished watching Steins;Gate, and damn, I never thought I would get emotional over tv series, but this one really did.
I'm not really into those "1) fight bad guys 2) lose 3) train and fight again" animes, but this one isn't like those.
I would have really liked it but I called the last plot twist regarding events in the first episode. I didn't like all of the "Oh would you like to go get MOE DOUJINS from the DOUJIN STORE in this MOE TOWN in COSPLAY OUTFITS after we go to a MAID CAFE". Kinda ruined the series by being self aware about the fact that it was an anime.
That and the main characters have zero redeeming features, the MC possibly has Asperger's disease (odd use of language, talking to himself, etc.), and they are both neckbeards, one of which is roughly 250lbs.
I can't stand the tropey BS, guess I'm just not cut out for anime.

Well, Okabe was a mad scientist you know...
And yeah, its ending wasn't the best possible. Still, it is the best time traveling anime/tv series/movie I have seen plot wise, because it leaves no plot holes. Also it makes its way of time travel really believable, unlike many other anime, almost like it was known science. For that, it deserves its spot in my favourites. Another plus side for it is that it is really easy to marathon due to its thriller like nature, and that fact it is not divided to many arcs like lets say Bakemonogatari. It has only one plot from the start to finish.
And btw, TTGL is the only exception to what I said about shounen battle series ;)
