Just a discussion i'm was curious about, For me it's DM cause i find it more relaxing and fun while MGE gets stressful and the last thing i want is more stress, and i also don't really like to when i try really hard in MGE cause i get all sweaty and thats not a pretty sight.
Lets hear your thoughts TF.TV!

play whichever you like
i usually like mge more because i dont get shot in the back 24/7

both, I get mad at mge strafe and soldiers that are passive and counter jump etc.
I get mad in DM when everyone just hunts the sniper or when there's a strong imbalance in the teams.

I play both.
In MGE, I'm able to smooth my aim out, because I have one person to focus on. So when I translate it to a real game I panic with so much going on, and don't remember to take my time with my aim.
If I remember to smooth my aim out in DM, it translates a lot better to games.
I guess it depends how good your focus is.

heh it feels like the opposite for me, DM has so many uknowns, and spontaneous fighting trying to just keep track of it all is stressful to me. MGE is pretty straight forward and you can generally hear their spawns.
Anywho it really doesn't matter MGE only requires 2 people though so at like 2 or 3 am it's easier to get going. And atleast for me it's a bit more fun.

I use MGE inbetween mixes/pugs
I use DM for roughly 30mins-1hr before scrims/matches

healthy mix of both
whatever you do dont play something you dont want to, if you are losing interest, switch from dm to mge or take a break.
the biggest thing to getting better is having fun (IMO) and keeping calm while focusing on improving what needs it.

mge's only good when both players aren't playing like giant fags, if you are going to mge then mge with a friend that you know won't gay you, or 2v2 mge if possible

2v2 MGE best of both worlds.

whenever i play soldier i prefer mge, helps you more with actual aiming than just "splash everywhere because this map is so packed with nerds to shoot"
if scout i like dm because in dm you can actually run around and do scout things instead of a-d-m1 until you win mge

i play dm and focus on hitting shots only, no kills no deaths just try to hit everything 70+ dmg close range or 40+ dmg midrange

I find dm more fun than MGE (generally) if that helps.

I prefer MGE because it's easier to find one that's populated, but not full. DM servers tend to be completely full, or completely empty.

I like Dm because it helps me on focusing different classes because in mge you shoot soldiers most of the time. And dm is more challenging to me, i always try to stay above 50 points without rocket jumping to practice in situations that will be useful in game.

I jumped into mge when I was 500 hrs into the game. Used to play scout vs scout a lot. Was pretty frustrating at first. I picked up on a lot of things, but developed some pretty bad habits. Then I moved to dm and realized my mistakes. Then I returned to mge and realized some dm mistakes. I play dm more right now but I agree with previous posts about there being a healthy balance between the two.
Some things I picked up:
-Tunnel vision. Strafing games might work in a 1v1 scout mge, but when there are 3 other people shooting me, strafing games vs 1 player isn't going to do shit. (Still trying to get out of this habit).
-Shooting at people who aren't looking at me is very different from someone who knows I'm going in for the kill. Movement mistakes can be forgiving in dm. Movement in mge is like a chess game. I learned this after coming back to mge after lots of dm - your movement is soley based on your opponent's and you become more aware of your mistakes because there aren't 3 other people to help out.
So for me it boils down to practicing specific aspects in mge vs improvising and reactionary play in dm. Playing mge vs other scouts taught me some AD, but playing dm taught me some WS spacebar (still shit at ctrl).
Despite all this, the most valuable thing I learned from playing both modes was that there is no aim without movement. And there is no movement without anticipation. It all kind of boils down to mind games; spotting patterns in how people play and denying them that opportunity. In mge you get a chance to fully assess your movement, but only against 1 player. In dm, some people have a frag mentality so they play more reckless, and that might allow you to get away with mistakes, but then again, there are 3 people, not 1...
So perhaps the ideal way would be to learn how to deal with 1 person's movement (mge) and then implement that in a setting with more than 1 person (dm)? This is why I think you can't have one without the other. Just a thought...
zodiacDM cause i find it more relaxing
I have never felt this way when playing dm. I guess maybe I'm playing it wrong? Heh.

This. Playing 2v2 MGE with some good friends is probably the most fun I've had in TF2 in a long time.
