Blaze - Gets it done, good dm, good jumps, good timing
Harb - one of the better distraction/mind game roamers around
Memphis Von - Dat shotty roam is p good from what i've heard
Jukebox - Gets predictable with his sniping, but that's a good thing
Mangachu (I will seriously fight you if you disagree)- Used to be the least predictable roamer, still is pretty hard to predict for what calls he makes
No specific order to those, but that's basically my top 5.

A Seagull's roamer is incredible.

Mike when he played roamer last season was insane too, plays similar to other roamers but just seems to hit everything which is a huge bonus. My favourites are jukebox for his amazing jumps and playmaking and GeaR for just being solid flank presence all the time.

Tek was really strong at i49.
And Mackey remains the most entertaining roaming soldier imo.

i feel like only blaze could compete with jukebox and GeaR atm. jukebox is way better at soldiee than people give him credit for, hr's more than headshots

DontubermeCan anyone explain further why they think whoever they've picked is the best roamer? It's pretty cool to see what people expect from/like to see in a roamer.
I personally like roamers that are consistent and don't rely on gimmicks. No stupid shit that happens to work because it's unexpected, just straight damage output and bullying. Probably why I choose gear/blaze/memphisvon to be the best right now.

That's interesting. That seems like a playstyle that isn't super easy to see done well. I've found some povs of gear and blaze. memphisvon povs are elusive. Can you explain what you mean by bullying a bit more so that I can look for it in their play? I'm assuming that you mean forcing scouts out of flank and gaining ground/poking holes in their defense, but maybe there's more to it. Can you(or anyone, really) pinpoint how or why these guys do it better than others? I don't mean to pester, but this topic is pretty interesting and a little more discussion about the various styles of roamer play is way better than just listing names of players.

Mackey and ww are the most fun to watch.
Blaze probably the all around best. Relic, Harb, and Tagg are also very good.

JakubI'd say that the most reliable roamer now is probably GeaR, but when it comes to shiny plays, I'd take blaze/jukebox/aporia
Rekusojukebox / aporia
raikugear, qnx, aporia, tagg and boink. Not sure if they're all the best but they all usually do their job as a rocketman.

Watskya quality post to revitalize the discussion in a 2 week old thread
for the sake of discussion why would you even think an unpredictable roamer is worse than a predictable one
there's literally no benefits to the "here comes a tagg bomb" style of roaming anyways, it's playing to not lose instead of playing to win
if a roamer is a dm lord and ONLY a dm lord he's probably not a very good roamer

Roamers need to be un-predictable, and not always going for the kill. That was probably one of my biggest problems when I was playing in Open as a roamer that I died way too many times.
As much as I apparently give shit to Mangachu, he could potentially become one of the better roamers in Invite with time.

Wonderwall knew how to play the game and was fairly predictable. I don't know why people feel the need to say that roamers 'have to be unpredictable', as it's a load of rubbish. You can be predictable in any role and still be effective based solely on game knowledge & mechanics. Wonderwall would just fuck shit up because he'd outdm most players, with sick jumping ability to boot.
'Unpredictability' just helps keep the other team guessing + increases your dice-roll factor.
Look at GeaR - predictable player, but has good mechanics. His playstyle is CERTAINLY effective for his team.
