Hey, so I'm not sure if the new update is the cause behind this but, pretty much I cannot see my Medi Gun's healing beam.
If I initially heal a target, the beam appears brightly but then it fades out into nothing. It does leave the flying plus signs.
Any solutions?

That's been a bug for a long time when you use TF2's built in "autoheal" feature. You can either just go with it or turn autoheal off in advanced options.

It's fine in dx9 but not in dx8.

I used to get the bug in dx9 before I used dx8. I honestly don't know if your statement is true or false blue.

yeah it isn't a bug with the auto heal feature. its just broken in dx8 itself

I personally do use dx8 and no auto-heal (Less control with that on) So it's Valve's issue?

I'm guessing there aren't any fixes for this other than switching to dx9?

I will test out dx9 later and see if that fixes it. I hope my FPS doesn't hit 10...

I'm having this problem, too. The beam is missing but the +'s still show up. I run in DX8.

harbleuwelcome to the club guys. i have never used a medibeam in my time playing medic. you can see so much more clearly without it. give it a try guys.
Well it's more clear but I'm sure for a lot of people it offers a way to keep track of range and who they're healing.
And it might seem more "normal" for some people lol.

had this for about 3 years and gave up finding a fix
agreed with harbleu, it's not as distracting having it off and you can see more stuff happening around you

This would also happen with viewmodel_fov 0, though I guess it would be doubtful that's the reason. It's worth a try to set viewmodel_fov 90 or something to see what happens, though.

No that doesn't work, I've used fov 0 and 90 before. 0 acts in a different way then 90 for the beam. It's broken.

same bug here and I actually like this better than either the regular beam or complete lack of a beam. nice job breaking it, heroes

Or you use the scripted autoheal.

you just have to disable the arrow above the player you heal. If you do this, the healbeam is visible, even in dx8!
