im excited, new distro to play with.
Family Sharing
In the past, sharing Steam games with your family members was hard. Now you can share the games you love with the people you love. Family Sharing allows you to take turns playing one another

My predictions:
O = SteamOS obviously
[O ] = SteamBox, the box that contains the OS
O+O = Some sort of interface that allows you to connect between people... An extension of Steam is my guess. We'll see.
My biggest issue with all this is the input lag. In-home streaming sounds neat, but it introduces another medium you have to send your input to if I'm thinking about it correctly. They did mention that that's one of the issues they've been focusing a lot on so maybe everything will work great.

SteamOS will be available soon as a free download for users and as a freely licensable operating system for manufacturers.
This is what stood out more for me... These will enable and even encourage all kinds of publishers from indie to AAA to develop and publish games to a new system that has no associated costs besides the development.
Xbox and PS charge very hefty fees iirc, often discouraging indie or smaller developers to publish their games.
This will result in one of 2 things, steamOS gets a huge catalogue of games from the start and lots of gamers start moving to steamOS as the home entertainment system, or the current existing systems (ps / xbox, etc) will have to change the way they do business to compete with steamOS and don't lose costumers to a far superior platform (at first glance). Either way its a win-win situation for us costumers.
Also, since SteamOS will be based of linux architecture doesn't this mean that every game released for steamOS now will be compatible with most linux distros? Making it a very viable gaming alternative if that happens.

O+O is integrated Twitch streaming support in the Steam client that also shows when you're streaming to your friends and lets them watch your stream in client through the friends menu.
This is my best guess considering Twitch staff hinted that they were working with Valve on this and it is a feature in the PS4/XBO

I am hoping SteamOS will have compatibility with programs such as Hexchat, Mumble, Opera, etc.

SteamOS is just a repackaged Ubuntu going off what was found on Steambox earlier, so if it works for Ubuntu it most likely works for SteamOS.

According to Forbes, the Steam Box will never happen. Interesting article, what do you think?
This is my guess:
[O ]
Steam box, that is a guy sitting on a couch looking at his tv monitor
O+O
Crowdsourcing in some way. I thought it could be about connecting people but that should've been something more like O-O. The additive sign could mean collaboration of people

I doubt Valve will build their own steam box, but I reckon they will work closely with an established OEM on a "semi-official" steam box, a la google nexus.

that's not Forbes, that's a contributor on Forbes. It's basically someone's blog hosted on their website.

Place your bets ladies, gentlemen and offclassers. What will it be? A box? A Sequel?
Its the steam box, calling it
That or Steam Energy Drink
That or Steam Energy Drink
I don't get it. Is it like intel's ultrabook thing, where anyone can make a laptop that meets intels guidelines, then call it an ultrabook?
Also, how many different types of steambox do they want? If the base model doesn't get 60fps 1080p on the games it's released with then it's stupid, and if it does, then what else do you need?

It's an open console entirely customizable and upgradeable and hackable, with an open OS and steam media features. It's everything the next generation of consoles should be, and as we can see from ps4 and xbox its not. Valve is gonna make a difference here.
Also, calling a special steam controller for the 3rd announcement
