Ode to a Sakura (Otherwise Known as Poem for a Female Child)
Soaring forever towards the lofty sky
You fly as though on angel's wings
And in the view of mine watering eye
Proceed to "wreck" most everything.
In our hearts, eternal, will you fly
Carried by a love unrivaled by kings
For the anime which you were mastered by
And all joy from within you brings.
Burn no more at our bedsides
For you feel no more flame in your heart
And search well for pastures greener
That pain again shall not start.
And know that in us all resides
A regret both sharp and tart
That in view you found us meaner
And thus must with us part.
Oh, were it a dream, and I could see
The name in mumble that we pine for
Perhaps I could turn fate and be
Just a little kinder.
Through the clouds forever, you will soar
Living through our memory
But with us now no more.
Though the coals may have dimmed
In misty morning haze
I can hope they will be remade
With an even brighter blaze.
Sadness your spirit hemmed
And so you left us in a daze
But let fondness for you never fade
And live to happier days.
Nevermore may you roam upon our silver screens
But forever in our hearts and our fondest dreams.
Soaring forever towards the lofty sky
You fly as though on angel's wings
And in the view of mine watering eye
Proceed to "wreck" most everything.

lower level invite teams should never have lan as a goal. invite to me was just having the opportunity to play against the best players. the goal is to show how you play as a player and teammate. ninjanick, milo, xalox, squid and decimate are only some players in the top teams in invite this season that just took the beatdown of being on a lower invite team and pushed themselves to get on better teams.
if paying 60 bucks each season during that time isn't worth having you improve. then the game isn't for you.

On the other side of the issue, not everyone feels that the price jump isn't worth is worth it. I guess it could just be me, but I could never pay that for invite. I know this a very outside thought, but how long does everyone think we can support 3 LANs a year? I still feel that we need to plan for the future in that case.

i was upset at first about the invite fee, but tbh $60 is pretty low for something i end up doing 2 hours a night 4 nights a week for a few months. Seeing a movie in theaters costs 12 dollars.
i like my team being good (as in, better than open/ugc/etc), i like the high level of play, i like playing against the best players. As long as your team isn't raging, losing is no big deal.
i guess the benefit this season too is that even the low invite teams have some even games together, instead of there just being a couple of low teams getting smashed.

invite 4th place prize is 1500 dollars, any team that makes it can pay their own way there by getting forwarded the prize pot.

Let me rephrase that when I am not listening to Bone-thugs, my whole point is this. For the last 4-5 seasons, at least one team has needed money for funding to go to LAN. In the last 2-3 seasons, at least 2 teams have needed it. I just really wonder how people think this is sustainable when most teams don't think about it until the last second.
Look, I keep saying this every single season that invite HAS to look ahead and get donations during the season, yet no-one has really done this. I really do enjoy playing this game, but every single season as of late, about 75-100USD, to get teams to LAN 3X a year. This is not counting money people are spending for Euro trips. All I want from Invite from this point is one single thing, fundraising earlier. Anyways, goodluck everyone, here is a song

I don't like invite teams asking for donations for LAN. If you aren't able to get yourself to LAN, you probably shouldn't be playing in a division that has LAN finals.
Having said that, earlier fund-raising would only be possible for the teams who are essentially guaranteed spots at LAN. The real LAN benefit would be knowing the date of LAN at the start of the season or at least by week 4. When a team gets a spot locked, they should be able to purchase tickets right away to minimize cost.
Oov, $1500 is still only enough to get by if several criteria are met.
1. ESEA releases LAN schedule relatively early.
2. Team locks LAN spot early enough to get decent ticket prices. This one's rough because the last spot sometimes goes down to the wire.
3. LAN doesn't fall on abnormally expensive weekend.
4. Team has no Canadians or other unusually expensive travel costs.
Last season, my plane ticket from St. Louis to Dallas was over $400. Even if all six players are in the same time zone as the LAN, that would still be $2400 and then an additional $300-500 for hotel rooms.
My ticket was unusually expensive and is normally around $230, but it's pretty difficult to fly 6 people to Dallas, book them hotel rooms for 2-3 nights, pay for meals, pay for transportation to/from airport, and still break even unless you take first or second place. A Canadian would be hard-pressed to break even taking first place.

I'd be 100% okay with this if there weren't teams forced into invite (like R5 was last season).
Either die or play invite, wow gr8. Granted, we weren't going to get to LAN, but it's still a thing to consider.
