I remember when the Loose Cannon first came out there was a discussion about whether or not it was viable in 6's. At the time it had the potential to do more damage than pipes, but it was too difficult to use to be of any benefit. Nice to see that the GL has some real competition now.
What I'm getting is that double-donking is the new airshot. Double-donked idiot.

can someone enlighten me as to why our meta game is stale?
bsccan someone enlighten me as to why our meta game is stale?
Since HL allows every weapon under the sun, there's this belief that every last weapon makes the game more dynamic, skill based, and interesting. Since 6s limits the weapons that can be used, apparently that prevents people from thinking, forming their own strategies, and aiming.

Well that's a harsh way of looking at it...
A more apt description might be: Humans by nature are creatures of habit, and dislike change when it affects them negatively. In a competitive environment, this change can come about in the form of a new innovative strategy, new parts, or a combination of both; depending on the competition. In either case the change would require other teams to adopt similar or competing strategies to keep up or lobby for it to be banned to maintain the norm.
Examples of this include the Quick Fix, Battalion's Backup, The T-Rex Car, and the Brabham BT46B "Fan Car".

There's a difference between genuinely innovating, and relying on broken weapons.

the bleeding edge of the 6s "meta" has been evolving at least where you can notice it shift a little every month if you REALLY pay attention. however a majority of teams are still playing the same way as people have played since MGE (the thing, not the mod) died. their game is already "good" and works well against the people they're facing and they have no other incentive to change like mihaly's flow did with the fact that their dual bombing all the time worked.
HL meta is changing every couple weeks and midlevel (high steel to silver) teams are adapting properly because the method of play is still relatively primitive compared to 6s (several years behind) and also because there's just "MORE".

ya the current "meta" we're on is the one where teams die. soon it'll evolve to the one where teams ask for donations

malso being juggled by it makes 0 sense and i dont know how many times ive tried to fight seagull with it and then found myself somewhere orbiting mars with 20 hp
This. Please no more weapons that don't make sense within the context of "normal" tf2 physics... Airblast is already retarded enough, we don't need any more "fuck up your movement beyond all comprehension" weapons.

How is the 6s meta stale?
They abuse and then ban at least 1 unlock every season.
Im thinking vaccinator for next season once LC gets banned. We'll see.

Seriously, i dont know what its like for players, but this formula is awesome to watch as a spectator. Its fun seeing one team really take advantage of a weapon, to the point where every team thinks they have to equip it in order to win. And then they realize nobody actually knows how to push against it on Gullywash.
bsccan someone enlighten me as to why our meta game is stale?
it's not. the people who always claim that the meta is stale and immutable without radically introducing unlocks fail to notice the subtle shifts at the top of the game because they simply don't watch enough matches and scrims to notice subtle shifts like roamer positioning, push triggers, push routes, etc. they want to see radical big changes that are instantly noticeable.

I know in IM alone the top 5 teams all play completely differently; have specific maps they're good at, blob at times, constantly flank, throw everybody at you, offclass a ton to not offclassing at all.
Even in the third highest div I see these things and constantly have to adapt and change my play even in the middle of a fight. It's much more dynamic than any pyro or heavy mains or forever opens can imagine. It's not fuckin stale.
