tf2 playing in only 1/4th of my screen

when ever i enter a server that default thing that pops up when you enter one comes up then i hit a button to get in and the game only shows up in 1/4th of my screen and the rest is the that default menu with the chalk board. anyone else have this problem? ive tried defragging validating reloading my hud re installing my fps cfg but nothing has worked any ideas?

If you were screwing around with mat_viewportscale and such, set mat_viewportscale to 1

it didnt work :l it got fucked when it back to 1 before i went out and when i came back that was when it started acting weird

Sounds like you have mat_viewportscale 0.5 and mat_viewportupscale 0. Changing either to 1 should fix it.
