Here's what SweetFX is: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=381912

I'd really like to use this thing to improve visibility when using LightBoost....

Has anyone been able to get this to work with TF2? I can't find any success stories post-Steampipe Update. I get a CTD on launch :/

Thanks.

SweetFX does indeed work, but it definitely slows down your game. I do not recommend

Um, I used lightboost once with my XL2411t it is nice for a fast paced game(worked like shit tho, stupid faulty backplate), tbh SweetFX looks kind of pointless for TF2 at least in my opinion.

Seems openpluginish, wouldn't want to use this in ESEA/ETF2L or on a main account.

I'd still like to try it....how did you get it to work?

VAC safe, btw.

yep it works

d3d9.dll and injector.txt go into the bin folder, everything else into common\team fortress 2

Sweet FX works. From my understanding it's a sort of FXAA Injector and color correction tool. It will be picked up as a cheat by the ESEA Client though.

seems kind of counter intuitive. Lightboost degreases input lag to an absolute minimum but since this is a form of post processing, I assume it adds a good bit of input lag... Sure it will look good but if you're about the game looking good, you're better getting a simple 60hz IPS panel anyway

I used to use an SMAA injector, and in my experience it adds a good amount of antialiasing with less performance impact than the in-game options. What you get is dithering around text though (however it's barely noticeable on SMAA_PRESET_ULTRA or whatever). I also actually experienced less input lag with it than with in-game AA, strangely, it may just be placebo though because I already have minimal input lag. Something to note is that it only works when in-game AA is off, and it's not as reliable or perfect as MSAA/CSAA seeing as it processes the whole screen including HUD etc. I don't know whether SweetFx has other post-processing antialiasing options or something but honestly SMAA on ultra is the only one worth considering using in TF2, MLAA has issues and FXAA and lower SMAA settings give noticeable blur/blobbiness. The end result is comparable to 4x MSAA.

also as Shifta said, d3d9.dll and injector.txt go in team fortress 2/bin, everythig else in team fortress 2.

I tried it some time ago and was playing around with some settings, here's a few adjustments that can be made:

That SMAA injector really does reduce input lag. It also makes skyboxes night-esque when r_3dsky is set to 1

EDIT: your screen dims when you die, the way it was intended

I think you have to set a console setting to make it work. It's something like mat_antialias 0 that's in every fps config, but it isn't the same as the antialiasing in the video settings menu. I'm not much help on this.

SweetFX can't do anything modern monitors settings can't, and it won't show up in screenshots. It will interfere with some streaming methods so watch out for that.

Installed it and put everything in the right folders, but there is no change. Maybe there is but its nowhere as dramatic as #'s 6, 10, and 11. Is there a key I need to press or some settings line I need to change?
