I never liked Steelseries mice. I really enjoy my Zowie ec1. Feels similar to a DeathAdder, but has 2 large mousefeet on the bottom instead of the deathadders 3 mousefeet. Ive had issues where my mousefeet would wear down quickly.

you also dont have to deal with the poor razer drivers, which is nice.

i normally don't like steelseries mice but the kana is really good
its biggest drawback is the rather stiff braided mousecord that's apparently a standard on all new mice now

i looked at the bottom of the zowie am and saw the huge mousefeet. not a fan of those as i think it gives more friction.
i'm getting fustrated with my sensei and want to go back to optical mice.
how are the buttons on the kana? i'm not sure if i remember this correctly but i heard one button is stiffer than the other.

friction is more or less independent of surface area, but the mouse feet that come with the kana are still absolute shit. they're the same ones that come with the kinzu that steelseries "mistakenly" put on the kana as well. they'll supposedly send you replacement mousefeet if you provide them the S/N on the bottom of the mouse, but it's been like 3 months and i still haven't gotten mine.

buttons work fine on mine.
all in all a good mouse made by a godawful company

AM has that braided mouse thing, my older ec1 does not
dont worry about friction due do mousefeet. Mousepads have more to do with that than anything else
For example Razer Goliathus Control (more friction) vs Goliathus Speed (less)

i don't suppose they would have fixed that by now if they even intend to. i heard the right mouse button was stiffer (by design?).
did you get the orange/black or white version?

I got the Zowie AM last week and I absolutely love it. Glides better than my deathadder. Also came with replacement mousefeet. Its on sale on newegg right now. Would recommend.
natapondid you get the orange/black or white version?
orange/black
also noticed i slammed the kana when you asked about the AM, lol

i'm leaning towards the kana for now. can't get zowie products in singapore sadly. i think the am's narrower shape doesn't suit my hands as much. it seems more rounded at the top.
Unless you're left handed, I would go with the Zowie EC1/2 eVo over the AM. They have the same hardware and the only difference is the shape of the mouse. Zowie EC1 is close in shape and feel to a deathadder and preferable for palm grippers. Zowie EC2 is a little smaller and better for claw grips. A couple of things that set it apart is the native 1000 Hz polling and you don't need to install drivers to change the dpi (meaning you won't have to deal with crapper drivers).
I had the deathadder for 5+ years and just recently got a Zowie EC2 eVo and I've never been happier.

Kana has been rumored to have positive accel. AM seems relatively fine if you keep the drivers up to date.

Correction: The AM seems to be fine as long as you keep the DPI in the 1800-3500 range like Zowie recommends, though I'm not sure if it has problems outside of that range.

The only DPIs that are on the Zowie AM are 450, 1150, 2300. You adjust it with a button on the bottom of the mice, there is no software that comes with it. The best DPI with polling rate on the mouse is 450@500hz for lowest malfunction speed and perfect control. There is no between 1800-3500 except 2300 and that is the DPI that causes malfunction easier than 450. Also, enigma can you fix quotes.

Where did you hear about the rumor that KANA has positive accel? I'm getting fustrated with my sensei, the sensor is feeling more and more sluggish and skippy.

Zowie modified the sensor to not go as high as the sensor recommends.
