Yyyyaaaooooo!!!!

eXtv is happy to announce we are launching a patreon campaign with the goal of funding eXtine + Lucky Luke to be able to devote themselves full time towards working for the TF2 Community. We've been doing it for four years and are gonna keep going strong, once we can reach these goals, we'll be able to deliver much more content and have a bigger impact.

Check out this vlog for more feedback from eXtine:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEEwr_ndxb8

And please check out our patreon page: http://www.patreon.com/eXtv

eXtv has always believed in the power of co-operation and we will continue to work hard at building the entire community and collaborating with other organizations. Thank you for your continued support, if you can't contribute to our patreon campaign, please just leave some feedback about what you'd like to see in the future of eXtv.

Sound great, a full time"employee" to represent TF2 will surely help grow the scene. Especially with the new excitement of sponsored weekend tourneys, new league, and the upswing of ulti-duo and MGE tourneys.

Donated what I can afford.

That's the plan snaz. I definitely want to support everything out there and not be selfish with my time. Wanna help out promoting tf.tv's tourneys as much as possible and everything else out there that is going on.

eXtv is basically what got me into competitive tf2. I watched a video from Sal talking about the basics of tf2, then I watched a bunch of old eXtv casts. Thanks so much eXtine for getting people involved in this game. While I prefer tf.tv's casts of most things now, eXtv was certainly the place for new people to figure out the game while having a lot of fun.

You working full time would mean nothing but good for the tf2 community, best of luck!

I really like this idea. Unfortunately I've been flat broke the past few months but I'd love to contribute a little later on in the year when I'm more flush, even though I don't play the game much anymore. Hope this works out. It's just not viable to have great content coming out consistently in the long term without real income.

Wouldn't it be alot more productive, to investigate ways of combining a large TF2 content website, like tf.tv with a community-run or proffesional TF2 league supporting several formats, like 6vs6, highlander, ultiduo, etc.

One big massive platform to increase page views drastically. This would attract more sponsors, advertising compagnies and perhaps create competitive player influx. Which could in the long run grow into LAN support, better and more high-end competition, more coverage, streaming etc. We've got all these little islands, like vanillatf2, etf2l, esea, cevo, tf.tv, extv etc. But none of them seem to have the potential to grow into something big. Either due to the lack of money, or technical issues with the backend, or scamming scandals, etc.

I always liked the idea that Admirable posted here some time ago. I think that's the only way to bring TF2 to a higher level, if there is still enough time to do so :)

Thanks so much so far!! Wondering what eXtv's 2014 is going to look like.

A more in-depth look on it for me:
My hobby has already become a job, as I'm working for a local animation studio for a living. But the projects I get to do there (informative, educational stuff) aren't quite as fun as eXtv. I wouldn't want to do anything else than video production anyway. Right now I have to combine my "normal" job with eXtv, but my normal job always goes first. So if I have a busy week there, I have to do eXtv stuff after work or in weekends. People still eXpect Top10s and MoGs (and them being on time) which adds pressure, more so than if it was properly paid (but I wouldn't want them not eXpecting anything!). If eXtv was paid the same amount or more (which it will if patreon succeeds), I can have eXtv go first and say no to local jobs if I have eXtv things to do. It would get rid of most of the pressure because I wouldn't need to work 10 hours a day or in weekends in order to keep producing eXtv things. But most importantly I just want to do something I love, which this is. My local job doesn't quite have a full-time place for me either, and it's difficult to find other companies that do. I'd rather make a little less money and do what I love than make a shitload and do something that's not fun. In the end, more money means more content! My current job is flexible though, so a part-time combination is an option for me as well.

you have my support. i have always been a huge fan of your casts and loved eXtravison when it was in production. I hope you both can start doing this full time and give the tf2 community the full time coverage it needs/ deserves

Yes but eXtv are a casting organisation, not a community or a league - Perhaps this is something for the community to aim for one day. F

For now - I shall subscribe!

We're at $473.52. That's great! :) I hope we can get at least the first milestone so that TF2 can become a better esport. Keep up the good work guys.
