TF2 causes mouse to act weirdly

Hi, as of recent my mouse has been causing some issues in TF2. I've only found one person with the same problem on the internet and their steam post has no responses in a month :/

So here is my problem, my mouse has become basically a needy child. If I don't press a button on it (M1-M5 for me) the first time I press one of them it will not register, as if it has to be "woken up." As you can imagine this is hell when going for the 8) and nothing happens.

It is just TF2, not my mouse. If TF2 is closed my mouse works perfectly. I reinstalled and that didn't help.

The mouse doesn't matter, it happens with every mouse I use. The problem is TF2 not the mouse, not the drivers.

Deathadder 2013. The default HP mouse. A crappy mouse bought at Target. Any mouse you plug into the computer.

I'm on mac as well and have been getting awful mouse lag recently. :'(

I'm on mac as well and have been getting awful mouse lag recently. :'(

What are your ingame mouse settings?

Raw input on/off?
Mouse filter, mouse acceleration?

Rawinput has been on and off, doesn't change it.
Filter is off (I believe)
Accel is off

Have you any weird scripts or binds? Alternatively, temporarily bind one of your mouse buttons to "say Button pressed" to test it.

Well this led me on a quest to see if anything else was causing the issue, for all you Mac users, don't use spotify!!!

so can you state the solution so that joe internet user who experiences your problem in another galaxy can look back at this thread and find a fix for his same problem too :) Is it just that spotify was running?
