I'm thinking about going for that Saturday, since its only like 2 hours away and it'll be cool to play with some of the bigshots (and meat a fellow sideburner). Just need to find some more info about it to persuade my dad into taking me.

Yaeh if you're close enough you could just come and kick it on Saturday. Tourney should be over by 8pm I'd think. Would probably be fine to get there at noon, although you might wanna talk to people to make sure you have a spot on a team. Teams will become much more set once their tourney software is live at the LAN.

fites.net has the most details. Not sure if there is a policy regarding just needed a ticket for a seat, or if a guest would be welcome so your dad wouldn't have to buy a ticket. Not my place to say but you could check with the FITES admin and they'd prolly check off on that.

If things pan out, we should be able to have a full tournament bracket with 8 teams. Furthermore, at least 7 of those teams will be filled with active comp TF2 players. This should result in a deep tournament field with more than a few competitive matches.

We'll definitely have STV demos collected afterwards, and hopefully people will use p-rec and bookmarks for POVs then pass along the demos.

In terms of IRL footage, we'd love if people would be willing to use their phone/video cameras, capture some great LAN footage, and then kick it to use afterwards. Put it on your YouTube, send us a link, and we'll get Luc to edit up a sweeeet video summarizing the LAN. Crowdsource that shit.

I just talked with some of the other eXtv staff about the LAN and we're definitely trying to bring some real kick ass things to the table. Coverage on site should be awesome, and if you guys help us crowdsource some irl LAN footage, we could also make a really awesome mini-documentary about it.

In other news, does anyone at LAN want to make a fun l4d2 scavenge team? Last LAN I didn't do much more outside of 6s and the TF2 obstacle relay race - I want to branch out a little more this time.

BTW, less than 1 month remains until LAN.

The FITES guys do a ton of L4D stuff, so you shouldn't have a problem finding people who are down to pound.

Are you guys actually CALLING the hotel and SPELLING OUT "F I T E S" as the code? It will not work online, apparently - you have to call them to get the discount on the room. Their number is 717-697-0321.

To be honest, I didn't call yet because I'm still waiting to see if some of my friends are wanting to go, but if they aren't, then I would prefer not to get a room just by myself. I thought I previously read that rooms were starting to run out, but maybe I was mistaken.

Just called the hotel. It seems there was some miscommunication with people at the front desk. They have plenty of rooms left. The block, which I don't think they should have even talked about, is the number of rooms we have to fill to get the rate we do. This block is also reserved JUST for FITES attendees if the hotel was busy.

One other quick note is that we don't have an online discount code so if you tried to enter FITES in the promotional code area it will tell you it's invalid. Rooms are still available.

tl;dr Just spoke with the hotel about 10 minutes ago (12:45 Eastern) and was told there are plenty of rooms.
